The charity leases the village hall and neighbouring playfield. It owns a sports pavilion and these properties are made available to individuals and organisations for sport and recreational purposes. Additionally a childrens play area with various items of equipment is provided.

To provide a venue for recreation, social, moral and intellectual development for the whole community of the villages of Morland, Newby and Sleagill and their immediate vicinity.

We raise money all year round by way of disco's, film nights, 100 club, annual fete and raffle. We also have collections for the air ambulance.

The Guide Hall, which is situated in the Cumbrian town of Millom, provides a space for young members of Girlguiding to meet regularly. Here they can make friends, engage in fun and exciting activities, and learn that whoever they are, wherever they are from, girls can do anything. The hall is also available for hire and is regularly used by other groups from within the local community.

Principle activity is fund raising for Morland Area C of E Primary School.

Lorton After School Club provides a vital service through employing qualified and experienced staff to deliver activities, new experiences and supervised play for children aged 4 to 11. The group offers a safe setting for children to experience new activities and learning, as well as social time with friends, mixing with different age groups and children from other backgrounds, out of school time.

The aim of the society is to promote the development and enjoyment of choral singing in West Cumbria. The society at present has only an adult choir, though young people 15/16 years of age would be welcome.Several concerts are given each year and opportunities are taken to use professional and semi-professional singers and musicians.

A village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Stainmore and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex or political, religious or other opinions, and in particular for the use of meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

The village hall provides a locally situated social centre available to every member of the village for local events, functions and social, recreational and educational activities.

To advance the education of pupils by developing effective relationships between staff, parents, and others associated with the school. To engage in activities or provide facilities / equipment which support the school and advance the education of pupils.

Restoring and conserving Lowther Castle and gardens, promoting public access to this nationally significant building and offering access to high quality information about the site, covering history, conservation, economics and culture.

Community Centre

Sedbergh Pepperpot Club Members enjoy mainly cultural events while raising funds towards music fees for local youngsters. Orchestral instruments are lent out for the annual costs of insurance cover. The Pepperpot Music Makers orchestra is an after-school activity at Sedbergh Primary School open to children from nearby schools; players in the Sedbergh Orchestra are drawn from the whole community .

Maintain and upkeep a Village Hall for the benefit of the villagers and their various organisations/clubs

Anastasia Days provides tailored, memorable high quality day out based experiences to help advance the emotional recovery of young people between the age of 6 to 16 who have recently encountered illness, abuse, disability, bereavement or other significant trauma in the North of England.

Village Hall is available for hire to persons for meetings, evening/day classes, training for CFR groups,celebrations of birthdays, christenings, weddings.It is also hired for fund raising events, voting facilities for local and general elections.

TO PROVIDE BUILDING FOR COMMUNITY USE FOR THE BENEFIT OF LOCAL INHABITANTS

Fundraising event throughout the year such as Summer Barbeque & Christmas fair which creates funds for extra items in the school. This year we've have supported general classroom resources as well as some items such as shelving, a white board, PE equipment and a sound system for the hall.
