Charities In Derby City

The charity pre-dominantly focuses on educational activities which serves in the main the local community of Derby. Various educational courses are operated across the year.The charity also works with statutory organisation's and other charities in order to sign post services offered by them.

Our charity is part of the Scout Association.

Nottingham Symphonic Winds (NSW) consists of Nottingham Symphonic Wind Orchestra (NSWO) and Nottingham Wind Ensemble (NWE). The groups perform concerts for the general public and help raise funds for other charities and similar organisations.

Provide venue for use as a community hall and sports facilities

We provide mid-month health and well-being activities, for example, walks to local venues like art galleries, museums, parks, and gardens, nature reserves, etc. At the end of the month, we provide a craft workshop & IT advice and guidance. During the week there are lunchtime meetings and arranged 1:1 sessions. We provide 2 online zoom workshops in the evenings and a WhatsApp closed group.

To provide or assist in the provision of activities in the interest of social welfare. This is for individuals who may not usually have access due to youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances. The object is to improve their conditions of life. We do this by creating experiences in, on or around blue spaces in the East Midlands.

Amateur Theatre Company

The advancement of education of the public of the history and evolution of computer and console systems from the 1960s onwards maintaining and operating a museum in Derby for the public benefit, for the preservation, display and public experience of computers, console systems and technology providing opportunities to enable volunteers to develop skills.

To relieve the needs of refugees and people seeking asylum and to advance them in life to assist them to adapt to life within their new community in particular by providing advice, practical assistance and liaising with other organisations that can help fulfil such purposes. To advance the education of the public in general about issues concerning refugees and those seeking asylum.

We offer following activities to the local community:1. Quranic Education2. Islamic Studies3. Arabic Language4. Sports activities, inclusive of football, cricket, PE, Mixed Martial Arts, Archery, Horse riding, swimming5. Food bank for local community6. Charity walks7. Local Charity events8. Our aim is to help boys and girls to achieve their full physical, intellectual,social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citzens and as Members of their local, national and international communities. We provide an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training for our members based around the Scout Promise and Law.

We run a Community Hall which accommodates a variety of clubs and associations including; Derby Sketching Club, Derby Ramblers Association, Derby and District Fuchsia Society, International Friendship League, Littleover Historical Society, Cabaret Theatre Dance, Slimming World. We also accommodate various individual groups. Also hosting our own Horticultural Show and Littleover in Bloom.

The Jamiat Ahl _E Hadith is the Muslim Worship place. The five daily prayers, Friday prayers, Taraweeh and Eid Prayers.

We promote the Bible and the practices explained within to the local community. We also collect for local food bank and support charities both within the Christadelphian community and external. We provide Sunday School classes and presentations for people to learn more about the Bible during the week.

To raise funds to enhance the quality of life of persons with learning difficulties.

Lowberdale Farm uses farming activities to advance the education of young people by providing support and opportunities to help them develop their skills, capacities and capabilities.

We provide specialised vehicle logistical support to our community, NHS and emergency services in times of adverse weather, crisis & emergency.

The charity offers outstanding educational & cultural services, Islamic counselling, seminars, and events for the youth and the community of Derby, alongside a fully functioning mosque with daily prayer services, Islamic classes and Friday sermons. The Nizamia Foundation is the perfect place to foster the hearts and minds of British Muslims.

To raise funds and donate said funds to organization's that benefit children off ill health or disability.

Providing support to the homeless and vulnerable in Derby. We do this by supplying them with food parcels, sandwich packs, hot meals, clothes, sleeping bags, toiletries and other items as needed. We currently operate from two large purpose fitted vans three evenings a week.

Nurture the Children International an opportunity to join in the fight against child neglect. We help children across the UK build mental resilience and a healthy level of cultural awareness. Supporting our education, feeding, water and health programs, also provides sponsors a simple way to support the world's most vulnerable children and put an end to child hunger, poverty and exploitation.

We support people with hearing loss in Derby/Derbyshire with 17 monthly outreach sessions in the community supporting people with advice, hearing aid servicing and to reduce social isolation as well as two sessions weekly in the local hospital. We also have a wide variety of assistive equipment for demonstration and offer training, presentations to groups as well as campaigning for better services

The key roles of the society involve monitoring, recording and protecting the avifauna of Derbyshire as well as working with other organisations towards protecting birds (and other wildlife) and the habitats that they require.

IN KEEPING WITH THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY, PRINCIPALLY 'TO ADVANCE THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN CHADDESDEN, IN THE CITY OF DERBY, AND ELSEWHERE', THE TRUSTEES HAVE SOUGHT FUNDING SO AS TO BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THE APPOINTMENT OF WORKERS FOR GOSPEL MINISTRY IN CHADDESDEN IN THE FUTURE. FUNDING HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ST MARY'S CHADDESDEN PCC.

We fulfill our aims by engaging with the residents of the area regardless of age, ethnic origin, ability, sex, belief or political affiliation and involving local people in improving Derby Arboretum; and carrying out and promoting environmental improvement, practical conservation, and supporting healthy activity.
