Village Hall facilities for the use of the general public and in particular the parishioners of Netherseal

TO PROMOTE, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE VILLAGE OF COMBS AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION, AND THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE, FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME, WITH THE SAID OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS.

The Sitwell Singers is a mixed-voice Chamber Choir which rehearses regularly during term-time, covering a wide range of pieces from renaissance to the present day. We perform at least 5 public concerts p.a, often with professional instrumentalists and soloists and also arrange an annual "Come and Sing" event in which members of the public participate in the study and performance of a choral work

Provide a public hire facility for meetings, lectures, classes and physical exercise and training, and for other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants of the area of interest being the Parish of Denby.

Until Oct 2019 we operated a converted library bus but we now work from a church in Chesterfield and a Christian Bookshop in Matlock. We provide food, friendship, clothing, toiletries, sleeping bags, all with prayer when requested, to the homeless and disadvantaged. The food consists of soup, sandwiches, hot drinks, and provisions donated by Greggs. Our dedicated volunteers lead the sessions.

To advance education for the community of Shirebrook by(i) supporting the education of students at the school(ii) relieving the financial hardship of pupils(iii) providing financial assistance to assist students in financial need(iv) providing services or facilities in the Academy not provided for under the Funding Agreement(v) fostering closer ties between the school and the community

Raising money for school through a variety of fundraising activities

We have four Almshouses, all occupied by mature people. we offer support by way of financial, pastoral and practical assistance.

Provision of arts, primarily choral concerts

Blue Box Belper supports residents of the Parks Estate and surrounding area to improve the quality of their lives. We are working towards rebuilding a new Community Centre, whilst also running community activities including: a monthly social gathering, delivering a quarterly newsletter, hosting community fun days, running a fortnightly craft group, supporting youth provision, and fundraising.

Paddle Peak cleans and cares for the River Derwent in Derbyshire and protects its wildlife through running regular volunteer river cleans. Our charity also inspires and enables local young people to try and then to take up paddlesports. We run come and try paddling sessions on the Cromford Canal and have a group of local children that we take paddling every week.
