Our core purpose is to process and extend the life of free surplus (waste) food into a nutritious product and provide this at no cost to disadvantaged families

The purpose of the charity is to provide for the comfort and care of those who use or avail of the services of Tavistock Hospital through the provision of equipment and services outwiththe bounds or limits of statutory funds. The charity's committee has six bi-monthly meetings with hospital management and professional staff to consider where needs exist and how they can be met.

Providing accommodation for mainly local people in need ,it was at first intended for the poor of the parish ,this is going back a long time and before we joined the Almshouse Association , it is still our intention to help people in need for different reasons .

General fund raising at meetings and Social Functions

Current activities involve purchase of Christian literature and support of Christian activities for the benefit of the people of Ilfracombe and especially of those in the parish of St Philip and St James.

Usually activities involving all sections of the community,i.e. rental for classes such as yoga, dog training, band practices, family parties, games evenings,lectures, fund raising for the hall itself and external needy charities, choral works etc.

Maintain contact with city planning authorities and scrutinise planning applications.Put forward members' views on larger developments to the press and city planners.Provide information, visits and talks on Exeter.Keep records of existing Blue Plaques and commission new ones.Keep members up to date through an e-mailing list, regular newsletter and monthly open mornings.

The charity exists to promote the education of persons under the age of 25 who are in need of financial assistance and are resident in the parish; it also exists to promote the religious education of persons under the age of 25 who are resident in the parish. We receive applications from children, young people and their parents and decide whether to give grants and if so the amount.

Providing assistance to persons financially embarrassed because of sickness or injury. Recipients must reside within Modbury parish and require assistance outside the State Social Security system.

The Society exists to preserve and enhance the area covered by the historic town of Dartmouth and the villages of Kingswear, Blackawton, Dittisham, Stoke Fleming and Strete, the River Dart and the neighbouring coastline and countryside.

Holds an Annual Agricultural Show

The provision and maintenance of a recreation ground for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Kilmington.

WE OFFER YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 10-18 THE OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN QUALIFICATIONS IN WATERBORNE ACTIVITIES, CAMPING, FIRST AID AND MORE. OUR CADETS ARE FROM THE TEIGNBRIDGE AND SURROUNDING AREAS, SOME OF WHICH HAVE HIGH LEVELS OF DEPRIVATION. BY KEEPING YOUNG PEOPLE OCCUPIED AND OFF THE STREETS WE HELP AND ENCOURAGE THEM TOWARDS RESPONSIBLE ADULTHOOD.

Upkeep of church (St. Mary's Church, Black Torrington) property.

Monthly meetings. Twice monthly craft group. Drama Group. Choir. Catering for village activities. Theatre and cinema trips. Coach outings for shopping and to heritage properties.

Organising village activities, such as whist drives, beetle drives, jumble sales, firework/bonfire displays, village flower and produce show for the benefit of local inhabitants. Making the hall available for local inhabitants' activities, including Parish Council.

The Sheldon Singers is a medium-sized chamber choir, based in Honiton, Devon. The choir is open to singers of all ages, genders and ethnic groups. Grants and sponsorship are offered to promising young persons. The choir gives two main concerts each year, in the spring and at Christmas. The free summer concerts raise money for community projects.

The Aim of the Scout Association is promote the development of young people in achieving their physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local communities.The Group caters for young people within the Mid Devon Villages of Tedburn St. Mary,Cheriton Bishop,Yeoford,Hittisleigh,Dunsford,Crockernwell,Whitstone.

Chulmleigh College Parents, Teachers, & Friends Association (PTFA) run events & activities to fund-raise for Chulmleigh College Pupils. We run a number of events including quiz nights, car boot sales, film nights, school discos. We also raise funds from the sale of refreshments and sales of quality secondhand uniform items at school events such as Parents' Evenings etc.
