The charitable purpose of the Unit is to promote the development of young people in achieving their physical, intellectual and social potential as individuals and as responsible citizens by the provision of education and leisure time activities using a nautical theme and in accordance with the principles, ethos and practices of the Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC).

The charity holds up to two activities a year to keep ahead of the running expenses of the hall: Soup and Sweet Lunch. Coffee mornings are held every two months.

We hold regular free educational meetings for members where Speakers talk on a variety of subjects. These meetings are also open to visitors of any gender on payment of a small fee. Our premises are available to hire at a nominal rate for various village activities. Our free of charge seasonal "Warm Room" and our "Welcome Cafe" provide space for friendship and conversation.

To advance the education of the pupils of the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school (not normally provided by the LEA), and ancillary to this, to foster more extended relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school; and to engage in activities which support the school and advance the education of the pupils there

We run an Energy Advice and Climate Emergency Centre in central Exeter, Devon

Preserve and make available to the public the photographic history of Totnes and surrounding area.

FUNDS CHURCH ACTIVITIES IN WINKLEIGH

EYV is a body that supports young people on and around the environs of the Exmoor National Park. Due to planning restrictions young people find it very difficult to stay and work in the National Park. EYV has been set up to support these young people and negotiate with local authorities to find a lasting solution to this problem.

Improving the environment and actions to combat climate change in the PL21 postal area

The society holds various events for members and the public and attends public events with its trade & display stalls. Details of these are included in the quarterly news letter & the section of the societies web site.

Financial assistance to choristers or ex-choristers under the age of 25.

Charity activites include supporting local area, education etc.

Promote good health and raising awareness of Male Cancers for the Public benefit. Provide support and advice to those Males affected by Cancer, either through having a personal experience through Cancer or from looking after a loved one with Cancer for the Public benefit

Assisting the Homeless in Devon & Somerset.

The charity was set up to address the physical and mental well-being needs of the farming and wider rural community of Greater Exmoor. It offers free drop-in clinic at the livestock market at Wheddon Cross coinciding with monthly cattle and sheep sales. The clinics are staffed by NHS professionals and volunteers from local farming and community based charities.

Provide a meeting place for all, with regular and special activities from coffee mornings, bingo, tea dances to jazz/folk nights B-BQ's etc. Giving an affordable option to any event or organisation.
