Proximity Church is a Christian community that operates primarily in Thurrock and the surrounding areas of Essex. The provision of supportive projects such as youth work, educational services, pastoral care, acts of worship and projects to benefit the community and the surrounding neighbourhood.

We are a football club that caters for children and young adults.

We are an amateur musical theatre society established in 1944 to present public performances of annual pantomimes, musicals, and other productions and associated activities, involving weekly rehearsals for adults and workshops for junior members. We have been based in Broxbourne on the Herts/Essex border since 1977.

Skills empowerment

We serve the administrative area of Brightlingsea and the parish areas of Alresford, Frating, Great Bentley and Thorrington with the objective of relieving either generally or individually, persons resident in these areas who are in need, frail, housebound or in distress by providing services such as lunch clubs, trips out to venues and information.

Education and development of young people through a variety of activities and competitions including public speaking, stock judging, cookery and sports. 10 clubs across the county organise their own weekly meeting. Emphasis on social, fundraising and travel opportunities too.

The charity provides childcare to children aged 2-5 years. And before school care for children aged 5-8years

Providing help to the tenants of Octavia Housing and Care

To promote civic pride & secure the preservation, protection, development & improvement of features of historic or public interest in the towns of Frinton-On-Sea, Walton-On-The-Naze & the neighbouring villages of Great Holland, Kirby Cross & Kirby-Le-Soken; to educate the public; to give information; to hold meetings, lectures & exhibitions.

Scouting for boys and girls aged 6 to 14

Provision of community accommodation to promote the moral intellectural spiritual or physical improvement or welfare or the recreation advantage or benefit of the inhabitants of Stisted or surrounding district.

Provides companionship, welfare and modest financial assistance to widows and dependents of all who served in the Armed Forces, to retired armed forces personnel and to retired members of the nursing profession who help in a variety of ways in hospitals, hospices and other volunteer-based organisations.
