The hall committee organises the everyday running of the hall, fundraising events for its upkeep, and annual community events .The hall, serves the community as the only meeting place in the village, and is used by groups of all ages. Hall user groups: table tennis,indoor bowls,boccia,photography,yoga/pilates,tai chi,art,WI,brownies/rainbows,soup lunch,fundraising events, private hire, polling.

We hold social events & leisure trips on a regular basis.

A community drama group

We provide members with many activities, ie. craftwork, talks from outside agencies ie. social workers, guest speakers etc. We provide quizzes and games. We have monthly outings to various destinations.

The relief of those in need by reason of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. For example we administer a child/family sponsorship programme, and support a learning centre in Ukraine for disabled or needy children, which includes the supply of specialists for particular needs who give their time free of charge.

Provision of community transport to local people in and around Malpas, Cheshire where there is very limited public transport. We provide services to community groups and charities catering for those who are disadvantaged by age, financial issues, isolation or physical frailty.

EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS, CAMPAIGNING FOR PUBLIC INTEREST CAUSES

Our choir learns and performs early choral music often with other early music musicians (pre-renaissance, renaissance and some baroque) around the North West of England and North Wales. We learn about early music and musical performance from our employed musical director and inform the public about early music at our recitals.

To further the education of the public in the archaeology, history and architecture of Chester, Cheshire and North Wales and to promote and foster public knowledge, understanding and appreciation of archaeology generally.

We operate in the Holywell area, our members consist of Boys & Girls between the ages of 6 and 14. We provide a programme of activities to help scouts find out about the world they live in, to encourage them to know their own abilities and to develop their creative talents. They also take part in traditional scouting skills such as camping, survival, cooking etc plus other adventurous activities.

Fundraising via summer & Christmas fayres, school discos etc to make donations to school for the purchase of equipment and activities to benefit the pupils.

Fundraising events throughout the school year - Christmas Fair, Summer fete, bingo, discos, etc. 100% of surplus is to purchase equipment/services for Derwen Primary School

The committee meets about 4 to 6 times yearly, to organise an annual Eisteddfod held in October each year. In order to meet the rising costs of the event, fund-raising events are arranged eg. coffee mornings, raffles and sponsored walks, etc. Applications for grants are also submitted to various bodies.

Raising funds for the benefit of the pupils of Castell Alun High School

To provide or assit in the provision of facilities in the interest of 1)the education and 2)social welfare for recreationand leisure time occupation of adults with learning disabilities with the object of improving their conditions of life, 3) to develop the capacity and skills in such a way that they are better able to identify and help meet their needs to participate more fully in society.

Community Centre

Waterborne activities, Duke of Edinburgh awards, Leadership skills, catering, outward bound actinities.

Maintain and administer the facilites of the village community centre for use by or for the local residents

To advance the study of ornithology and public education in ornithology and related matters through bird-ringing in Merseyside and district.

We raise funds to support university fees and general associated educational costs including books and travel for those wishing to enter religious life. This benefits the students, it also creates an inclusive sense of community and belonging amongst those who are involved in the social and fund raising events, encouraging everyone to participate within their capacity.

The Trustees are a management committee whose main duties are to ensure that the building is financially secure and maintained for public use.
