Due to the specialisms of our instructors there is particular provision for those with visual impairment and with learning disabilties. Our riders have had great success in regional and national competition.

Mentor young people and adults male & female in the sport of boxing. Train/coach and prepare them for competition. Deliver fitness classes to the whole community & for anyone who wishes to participate in group sessions as well as one on one training. The WI educates women through educational events, speakers and trips. We support our local community in Gateshead by volunteering for other charitable organisations. We support local women through friendship and socialising.

The relief of financial hardship amongst families in Gateshead and the surrounding area by the provision of clothing and equipment in particular related to school uniforms.

Birtley Community Partnership is an umbrella group for all the Churches, Schools, voluntary Groups and Businesses within the Birtley area. We work together to promote the benefits of the people of Birtley without distinction. We work with statutory and voluntary organisations in a common effort to improve the physical and economic conditions of life in the Birtley area.

Rowlands Gill Volunteer Library Association provides library facility and service in Rowlands Gill Library, Norman Road, Rowlands Gill NE39 1JT. In addition we provide other education community resources and activities for residents of Rowlands Gill and surrounding areas.

The society organises ten lectures each year on the decorative and fine arts. It has a church recorders group whose researches produce records of the fabric and contents of churches for presentation. Volunteers assist museums and other institutions with the cataloguing and maintenance of heritage property. The society makes grants to support arts projects in the community.

The association provide a public library service for residents in Low Fell and the surrounding area of Gateshead. Our activities include running a book lending service, providing access to Gateshead Council?s public access computers in the library, RhymeTime and other regular children?s activities, a monthly Book Group and a programme of speakers and events for the local community.
