It offers a wide range of technical information, advice and feedback via its website, journals and technical events. It encourages suitably qualified members to register with Engineering Council and operates a licensing scheme - irtec - for vehicle mechanics and technicians.

The Screwfix Foundation supports various local charities and not for profit organisations which operate throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. All request for grants are formally vetted and rated against a strict scoring criteria to ensure all supporting charities meet The Screwfix Foundations objectives.

The objects of the CIO CDS UK are, for the public benefit:1. The advancement of mental health particularly to persons affected by dissociative disorders; and2. The charity's primary objective is the advancement of education by the study and practice of Thoracic Surgery and related medical subjects. This involves the organisation of European Board exams in Thoracic Surgery, organising annual conferences, supporting scientific publications of thoracic surgery and facilitating exchange of teachers and trainees in thoracic surgery.

The objects of the charity are such exclusively charitable purposes as the Trustees may in their absolute discretion determine.
