Ashoka UK is the UK chapter of Ashoka: Innovators for the Public, a charity registered in the United States of America. The objects of Ashoka UK are to relieve poverty and sickness, preserve and protect health and advance education and promote the preservation of the environment for the public benefit particularly in developing countries by promoting the work of the organisation known as Ashoka.

The advancement of education of operatives working in industry by:- facilitating competence card schemes which will set standards & develop and test competences in order to increase public confidence in the operatives' work;- promoting participation by operatives in all forms of education & training and in the schemes;- improving the quality, flexibility and access of operatives to learning.

Our focus is on non-confrontational, pragmatic, science-based programmes & solutions to build a world where biodiversity thrives & people conserve nature both for its own sake and for its ability to enrich human lives. The programmes TNC-UK supports will focus on globally significant lands, rivers, lakes, oceans and strategies to create more sustainable cities and stabilise the climate.

Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition CIO is part of a worldwide Religious Order originally started in France, this charity is based in England and its aim is to further the knowledge of God's love for humanity; to care for their elderly retired members/sisters; to run a nursing home; social and pastoral work; to support international missionary work; and support English charities.

To advance education for public benefit through theatre productions. A number of imaginative productions are put on each year coupled with educational programmes related to the shows. We provide advocacy and independent services for children in care, in need and in secure settings, and we campaign for policy and practice changes to improve their lives.

The UK Career Academy Foundation leads and supports a national movement of employers, schools and colleges, working to raise the aspirations of 16-19 year olds who are considering a career in business.

Religious activities

To support the religious and other charitable works carried on by the members of the Congregation and to care for those members throughout their lives within the Congregation. These ministries of the Sisters of the Congregation, all of which benefit numerous members of the general public, fall into the following main areas: Health, Education, Pastoral ministry and overseas outreach.

Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) supports research, advocacy and action that helps defeat meningitis and septicaemia. We do this by funding research, carrying out our own research and supporting the research environment. We advocate for better health policy on behalf of people affected. We provide direct support to people and families. We are based in the UK and work around the world.

To share the love of God, through the ministries of care and education, through 35 Nazareth Houses caring mainly for frail older people, seven retirement villages and five education services in 38 different locations worldwide. The charity spiritually and financially supports these works, which are delivered in our regions via other Congregational and charitable bodies.
