Supporting Deaf Children on the Isle of Wight

The Emilienne Charitable Trust is a grant making charity, it's income derived solely from funds invested. Grants are made to charities and organisations which have a material affect within Hampshire, particularly those involved in education and the treatment of addiction.

The Friends of Northwood Cemetery's activities are: to promote the heritage, preservation, restoration and maintenance of Northwood Cemetery including its chapels and other standing structures; to promote and maintain the burial records of Northwood Cemetery; and to promote the conservation of the landscape, arboreta, flora and wildlife of Northwood Cemetery - all for the public benefit.

THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION IN THE SUBJECT OF RADIO BROADCASTING AND RELATED TOPICS FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, PARTICULARLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, IN ORDER TO DEVELOP THEIR COMMUNICATION SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS.

To promote the arts, culture and heritage for public benefit, and in particular the art of literature and storytelling, by the establishment and maintenance of an annual festival aimed at children, young people and families on the Isle of Wight.To advance the education of children & young people by promoting and providing opportunities for the appreciation, understanding and creation of stories

A new pavilion incorporating changing facilities has been built for use by local sports clubs and the wider community. It is used by local community groups including Girl Guides, Senior Citizen Clubs, the Parish Council etc. It is also used for ,one off' events.

The Isle of Wight Cantata Choir hold two concerts per year with a full orchestra and professional soloists. We are a choir of some 120 members.With effect from 2022 the choir is establishing a Bursary Scheme to assist young musicians on the Isle of Wight with their musical studies. This will be a biannual event. A legacy of £20000 received in 2021 makes this possible.

For the individual we offer tuition of a musical instrument (woodwind, brass, glockenspiel or percussion), playing as part of a band & marching skills.As a group we offer a sense of teamwork & co-operation & a feeling of community being part of a group throughout engagements and social events.We practice at St Thomas of Canterbury Primary School & our engagements take place locally.

Therapy riding activities for mentally and physically disabled children and young adults.To advance education in diabetes and diabetic care through educational programmes using the horse as a teaching tool. Provide recreation facilities for improving the life conditions of individuals who have need by reason of their youth, age infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances.

Regular Christian services and activities for the community of East Cowes, outreach and support of various missions and Christian organisations both local and worldwide as an expression of faith

Instruction and training based on the customs of the Royal Navy. We deliver training within our unit and the Solent, but we also have access to training courses run by the Sea Cadet Corps at District, Area and National level.

The objects of the Medusa Trust are to advance the education of thr public by the provision of facilities to maintain, promote, restore. conserve, improve and develop historic vessels for the public benefit. To this end the trust has acquired the former HMS Medusa and carried out a major restoration programme to return her to seagoing condition, configured largely as she was at D Day.

We offer Yasodhara Yoga classes, workshops, retreats and satsangs in the Vedanta tradition. Our deep spiritual and personal development focus was pioneered for westerners by Swami Sivananda Radha. We support teaching tours by swamis visiting Europe, and assist students wishing to study and work at Yasodhara Ashram, Canada. We also import and sell Yoga books and other teaching materials.

To benefit the poor generally on the Isle of Wight or of such deserving and necessitous persons therein as the trustees select for this purpose in such a way as they consider most advantageous to the recipients and most conducive to the formation of provident habits. Also for the protection and benefit of and the prevention of cruelty to animals in the said island.

Raise funds for equipment, toys and minibus for children with disabilities to use whilst at respite.

Assisting Isle of Wight sick children with travel costs when they have to visit mainland hospitals for treatment. Also to help purchase equipment for sick Isle of Wight children that cannot be supplied by the National Health Service.

Carry out service activities and fundraising activities, in the local area.

Recreational Activities

Holding regular church services, including weekly breaking of bread. Providing a building for use by other Christian organisations, including a purpose-built baptistery. Preaching the word of God and teaching from the Bible to facilitate a closer relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus. Raising funds including for other Christian charities and groups to promote the gospel.

The diffusion of Unitarian principles and the support of member congregations in their work in the community through regular meetings, social events and such other joint activities as may from time to time be decided.

The group runs a unit of the Scout Association. The Aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving the full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials. The method of achieving the Aim of the Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leaders.

Activities in accordance with the National Scouting Charter

Discussions with the planners regarding the provision of changing facilities on the field to enable the playing of team sports have continued. The associated fund raising has commenced. In the meantime, the directors will encourage the widest use of the field consistent with the constraint that a lack of permanent facilities brings.

To help conserve maintain and improve the fabric furnishings and fittings of St Helen's Church, Eddington TRoad, St Helens, Isle of Wight, its graveyard , gardens, surrounds, and environment including the Lych Gate; to support the upkeep of the building and its grounds and to foster public interest in the building and its grounds.
