Slaithwaite Brass Band has been producing music in the Colne Valley, near Huddersfield, since 1892. We perform at many concerts, events and contests each year. We practice at our purpose-built Bandroom, which is also available for all members of the local community to use for events.

A Trust Fund associated with a Rotary International Club raising funds to help local individuals and organisations to achieve their ambitions and better fulfil their potential, to assist those in need or suffering hardship and to undertake charitable purposes for the public benefit both in the UK and internationally.

The charity provides 6 homes for the elderly in need from the area of Scholes, West Yorkshire. Residents live independently with no warden support.

Provision of group work/ guiding for making various items for sale for both male and female members, most of whom suffer some form of illness and/or mental illness. supporting those in need of association and friendship.

We aim to provide the means for local people over 50 yrs. to pursue their interest in structured groups. We rent appropriate space, provide equipment, produce a time-table and recruit class leaders in return for an annual membership fee and class fee, classes include sports, languages, arts, handicrafts, and games. We hold monthly forums with a speaker, monthly luncheon club & walking group.

During the year we have continued to hold events such as local curry evenings and fairs, a quiz and other events within the community space which has had the church pews removed. This means we can offer the space for more events such as community classes, sales and private events. We continue to engage with an architect and are working towards phased development and renovation of the building.

The provision of almshouses for poor people in Kirklees and keeping the almshouses in good repair

Friend to Friend is a local charity in rural South Kirklees, West Yorkshire, offering a range of activities for older people including armchair exercise, monthly meals, coffee mornings, cultural and craft activities and games including dominoes and cards. Our groups are aimed at keeping older people healthier, more active and less lonely. We provide transport where necessary.

13 projects have been set up aimed at specified groups. These can be summarised as follows: - Groups for those with mental health issues, elderly , physical and/or learning disabilities, at risk (of exploitation or discrimination) . We offer inclusive weekly dance, exercise, theatre or singing classes, with wellbeing sessions encouraging open discussions being a key addition to the Mental Health

Sharing of worship, discussions and social activity.Grants made to children and adults attending national Unitarian activities. Grants for worship studies courses for lay preachers across the district. Donation to Send a child to Hucklow charity. Grant towards maintaining church premises.

Manage the facilities of Croft House Community Centre (Village Hall), Jackroyd Lane, Upper Hopton, Mirfield, WF148HS.This involves raising funds by letting the rooms and funding all the utility bills, rates, cleaning, personal and building insurance and Health & Safety responsibilities.

Recreational and competative trampoline sports club

Provides facilities and personnel for the provision of Beaver, Cubs and Scouting activities; and also a building resource for the community

Education and Training of young people within the Scout Association.

To teach religious education to childern and comunity.

All activities according to the Policy and Organisation of the Scout Association. The Scout Group works in Calderdale and Kirklees
