Educating the public in the history and heritage of the inland waterways of Yorkshire by:- a) preserving vessels and artifacts which illustrate and explain the history and heritage of the waterways; b) providing the public with access to the waterways for the purpose of education; and c) undertaking research into the waterways and publishing the results for the public benefit.

Our PTA works with our school, parents, pupils and the local community to put on a range of events andactivities, such as school disco's, Christmas and summer fairs, pre loved children's clothing sale, movienights. These help to build the school community, break down barriers and help fundraise. We use ourfunds to purchase a range of goods and services that support the education of pupils.

The main aim of the Emma Maltby Memorial Fund is to raise funds to employ Learning Mentors at the Teenage Cancer Trust Unit in St James's Hospital in Leeds. The Learning Mentors will assist patients to ensure that they can continue their education whilst undergoing treatment for cancer.

Provision of items services and facilities to the Thurstonland School

Provision of horse riding facilities for disabled persons

Provides the facility of crown green bowling for anyone over the age of 12 years and is a member of 5 local leagues.

Scouting outdoor activities, camping, rock climbing, canoeing, sailing, hiking, fund raising, educating trips abroad.

THE OBJECT OF THE ASSOCIATION (THE OBJECTS) IS TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF PUPILS IN THE SCHOOL IN PARTICULAR BY: 2.1 DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE STAFF, PARENTS AND OTHERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE SCHOOL 2.2 ENGAGING IN ACTIVITIES OR PROVIDING FACILITIES OR EQUIPMENT WHICH SUPPORT THE SCHOOL AND ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUPILS

The Charity has received a large legacy payment and is managing the invested funds to support the needs of young people under the age of 16 in the West Yorkshire area that are suffering from cancer.

To support the continuation of a public library service in Marsden for the benefit of the residents of Marsden and the surrounding area

The relief of persons 65 years of age or over resident in Honley who are suffering from sickness, hardship or distress - by making grants of money or providing or paying for items, services or facilities calculated to reduce their need, hardship or distress. An amendment to the age limit rule in 2008 authorises the Trustees to waive the age requirement in exceptional circumstances.

Bedsits, Almshouses

Social activities ie meetings with speakers or entertainment, coach trips, bingo, quizzes.

Furtherance of the aims and policies of Girlguiding UK within West Yorkshire.

For the Religious, Educational and other charitable work of the Religious Society of Friends within the area of the Central Yorkshire Area Meeting. (ex. Monthly Meeting Area).

The aim of the Committee is to promote the welfare of the aged by such means as are charitable in Upper Denby, Lower Denby and High Flatts near Huddersfield by the provision of or assistance in the provision of an annual outing, Christmas parcels, various events and activities.

The members of the society plant native tree whips on selected sites, each Saturday morning from the start of November to the end of April. And woodland management in the summer months.

Running a competitive music festival and musical concerts in the Rothwell(Leeds) area

Weekly meeting meeting of like minded members interested in performing arts to study musical interpretation of titled shows for public performance.

The choir welcomes new singers to join them performing concerts for the general public. We sing at the request of other organisations to help with their money raising events. We also fundraise for our benefit and for nominated charities.
