The Western Front Association was formed with the aim of furthering interest in the period 1914-1918. It is not a re-enactment society, nor is it commercially motivated. It is entirely non-political. The object of The Association is to educate the public in the history of The Great War with particular reference to the Western Front.

To organise and run a competitive musical festival together with all the fund raising activities to make this possible.

General fund raising by social functions and receipt of gift aid and other donations to be applied for charitable purposes.

General charitable purposes.

To advance the Christian faith in accordance with the statement of belief in the UK.The provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation among refugees and asylum seekers living in Huddersfield

A building preservation trust: Buying historic buildings in need of repair, carrying out the repair and selling to be able to buy the next one.

Financial support for the work of The Society of St Wilfrid and St Hilda, in the Anglican Diocese of Leeds

arranges trips/outings/social activities to residents in Kirklees and surrounding area. Newsletter every 2 months.

The principle activity of the Association is the management of the Sheep Dog Trials held each year

Grants to students, under 25 years of age (on 01 September of the year in which applying), residing in the area of The Ancient Parish of Thornhill, St. Michael, (Savile Town, Thornhill Lees, Thornhill, Whitley and Briestfield; The Flockton Ward of The Kirkburton Parish Council; The Parish of Sitlington).Income derived from investments, and small amounts of Ground Rent on land in the area.

This charity operates openly in areas where help is desperately needed. The most recent appeals made were for the Pakistan Flood Disaster, Bangladesh Cyclone, Bangladesh Cancer Treatment and Kashmir Earthquake Appeal.

AGS groups meet to bring together people who enjoy Alpine plants in all their forms and would like to further their knowledge.

We are an organization giving grants to students, aged between 16-24 years, that live in the Slaithwaite area to provide support with their studies.

To provide advice, support to deafblind individuals residing in Yorkshire. This includes children and adults and their families.The charity aims to promote awareness and learning in the area of deafblindness to those families living in Yorkshire.

1) The relief of patients suffering from Pure Red Cell Aplasia2) The provision in the interests of social welfare of recreational facilities for such patients3) The relief in cases of financial distress of the dependents or deceased patients4) The promotion of research into the causes and treatment of Pure Red Cell Aplasia on terms that such research is published

Grants for educational purposes involving travel to students at Kirklees College and Huddersfield University

1. Studying and recording the wild birds of the area and publishing reports.2. Promoting education of the public about wild birds and their habitats.3. Supporting research into conservation of wild birds and their habitats.

Raising funds for Castle Hill School to enhance the provision for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties. The school has achieved Specialist Status in Communication and Interaction

Preserving an open space for use of locals.Fundraising to pay for such things as insurance and tree surgery as well as carrying out practical work like pruning and litter picking.

TO PROVIDE A STIPEND FOR THE VICAR OF MELTHAM, HOLMFIRTH, WEST YORKSHIRE

The group seeks to progress the advancement of education in all it's formats, to children, young people and adults, in particular, those of African-Caribbean heritage but not exclusively, This is done through a number of activities, to include performing arts and through the development of programmes in response to identified needs as well as empowering, providing skills and necessary knowledge

The charity raises funds through regular organised events such as discos, fayres, magic shows and raffles. The funds are then used to provide facilities and/or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

Beaver and Cub activities for local boys and girls. Including regular meetings and outings to promote social and interactive skills.

The Association aims to advance the education of the public and to promote research in geology and allied sciences more specifically in the North of England with particular emphasis on Yorkshire, by holding public lectures, and field meetings , supporting like-minded initiatives and by other such means as the Association's Council may from time to time determine.

The objects of the Charity are to encourage high standards of architecture and town planning in the Holme Valley Parish Council area, to stimulate the interest of the public in the beauty, history, natural history, character and architecture of the area, and to influence the development and improvement of features of historic interest or public amenity in the area.
