HAWTHORNE PARK TRUST EXISTS TO DEVELOP AND OVERSEE A PARK WITHIN THE BUILT UP AREA OF THORNTON. ONCE AN ILL DRAINED FIELD, THE TRUST IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHERS HAS CREATED A COMMUNITY PARK AND WILDLIFE AREA FOR ALL RESIDENTS WITH PATHS, LIGHTING, SEATS AND FACILITIES BOTH FOR CHILDREN'S PLAY AND OLDER TEENAGERS. THE TRUST HOLDS A 50 YEAR LEASE.

Assist current and former members of the Royal Air Force and their families by means of the Wing Appeal, grants and direct assistance.

Masonic Lodge of Freemasons registered with the United Grand Lodge of England and Consecrated in May 1922.Activities include promotion of freemasonry, and involvement in the local and wider community in the pursuit and support of charitable and other work for good causes. This involvement and support includes monetary giving as well as practical support.

The Friends provide assistance to Tawd Vale Scout Camp and apply for grants to buy equipment for them etc.

Lancaster and Morecambe Hindu Society exists to benefit the wider community in the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay area. We seek to break down barriers between communities by engaging in activities that support the community, whilst at the same time working to promote and maintain our rich religious and cultural heritage for future generations.
