Rossendale Rays' Charitable Objects are to provide water-based sports, cycling and access to other sports for members with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, in order to benefit their health & well being. Our inclusive weekly sessions attract an average of 100 SEND members including parents, family members and carers from Rossendale, Lancashire and the surrounding area.

To develop the capacity and skills of the members of the economically and socially disadvantaged communities participate more fully in society and to promote community cohesion.

The aims of the charity are:To advance the Education of the public, (particularly those under the age of 25,) on the dangers of violence and the serious consequences of these actions. To promote learning about individual responsibilities highlighting the consequences of anti-social and violent behaviour for victims and people who carry out violent acts.

To engage and improve in underground, fell & mountain search & rescue and in animal rescue; to support safety procedures in associated activities and to assist police, ambulance and fire authorities in these and similar activities.

General charitable purposes including environment, conservation, community and heritage projects within Downham village. The charity makes grants to individuals and organisations within the village to enable projects above to be implemented.The charity makes donations to other charities/voluntary bodies.
