The aim of the charity is to promote and preserve Grimsargh Wetlands for the local community. Our main objective is to protect this wonderful wildlife habitat and to encourage and promote the fauna and flora of the site. Grimsargh Wetlands is a Biological Heritage site and regularly attracts rare birds, animals and plants. Aims also to improve access and promote education.

The Grotton Residents Association run and manage the community centre known as The Pavilion in the village of Grotton. We hold annual events including a gala, Christmas fayre and bonfire but mainly the centre is used by local groups and organisation including - a pre-school group, a table tennis group, a knitting group, a wine circle as well as being available to hire for children's parties.

Aughton - Ormskirk U3A is a dynamic outward looking collective of retired people which provides a framework for a positive creative approach & life after full-time work at a minimal cost. No qualifications are needed and none are given. It is affiliated with over 600 other groups as part of the Third Age Trust UK.

Arka Dhyana seminars, Community gatherings, Public talk open audiences and Seminars on various topics on raising Conscious Awareness, held across the UK. Other activities include attendance of Vegan festivals, sports tournaments, Arka Dhyana sessions.

We are a Womens Institute and own our own property and this provides facilities for the following activities, lunches for the senior citizens of Parbold and the surrounding areas, a meeting place and entertainment for the communities of the area and this helps us raise funds for the maintenance of our hall, a club and disco for the youth of the area, a hall for activities such as yoga, keep fit

EDUCATING YOUNG PEOPLE IN LIFE SKILLS

The charity runs a social club once a week in one centre. The members are taken on outings and holidays and there are special Christmas activities. We will also respond to enquiries about funding equipment which supports blind or partially sighted individuals, or take up cases where there is discrimination against the blind.

Scout group

To provide scouting for young people age 6 to 14 (boys & girls). Aims: To develop the young person mentally, physically and spiritually, using a varied programme of activities and events.

Adlington Scout Group helps young people to enjoy new adventures; to experience the outdoors; interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Hospital fetes (spring or autumn). Flag days (1 days per annum). . Trolley services - toiletries & sweets.Befriending. Providing daily papers & books & magazines.

To provide and maintain a village hall for use of the inhabitants of the parish of Bolton-Le-Sands and surrounding district, without distinction of political, religious or other opinions. Used for meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants and hirers of the centre.

We are a Church of England Church and we worship in our church building each Sunday. We also carry out missional work in our community and support other local community charities.

Enables people that are retired, semi-retired or not in full time employment to get involved collectively to learn new activities, involving both mind and body to enhance self-esteem and well-being. Facilities provided for learning, leisure & recreational activities provide opportunities for people to share their ideas, thoughts and memories with others, thereby enriching lives of those involved.
