THE CHARITY IS A UNIT OF THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION WHOSE AIM IS TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN ACHIEVING THEIR FULL PHYSICAL, INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL AND SPIRITUAL POTENTIAL AS RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS. THIS IS PROVIDED VIA AN ENJOYABLE SCHEME OF PROGRESSIVE TRAINING BASED ON THE SCOUT PROMISE AND LAW GUIDED BY ADULT LEADERSHIP THROUGH ACTIVITIES BASED ON BADGES AND AWARDS IN SCOUTING.

To raise money for Nether Kellet primary school to aquire equipment, amenities etc. To enhance the education experience of all the children who attend.

Provision of a quarterly payment to single men and women living in Lancaster who have attained the age of 50 and do not have an income of more than £12,000.00 per annum from all sources.

Visits are made to Sri Lanka and courses in Counselling Skills taught to teachers, pastors and nurses. Equipment for schools, nurseries and orphanages has been purchased. A Play therapy room has been built at an orphanage and care mothers have been trained to use this. Music and drama therapy as well as group and individual counselling sessions are used to help the children with emotional issues.

Unitarian church facilities

Events for the school children and their parents and friends, such as Christmas and Summer fairs, school cinema events, discos and shows.

Kilgrimol Centre offers residential accommodation for members of Girlguiding UK. The building also hosts unit meetings, trainings and adult support for Girlguiding's volunteer leaders. There is also Community use of the building for playgroups, trainings, meetings ,etc.

Our main aims are to raise educational attainment of young people to positively improve their life chances. We try to raise their confidence and self esteem in education to ensure success and sustainability. We do this through a supplementary education service that provides support with core subjects such as maths, English, ICT and science.

We raise money to enhance school life by funding special projects and purchasing items for children at St Mary School Mellor.

Administer the rental income of the trust property (currently ?7,200 pa) and the maintenance of the same.Distribute (after admin/maintenance costs) the funds/income according to the charitable objects of the charity to the rightful recipients both in the UK and abroad.

THE RESCUE CARE AND WELFARE OF SICK, NEGLECTED OR ABANDONED HORSES AND PONIES.

The object of Haworth Band (the charitable company), in accordance with its Constitution, is to provide musical entertainment and services to the community (and wider community) and training and tuition to novices and improvers who seek to learn music for personal gratification or to enhance career directions and/or pursuits as a means of vocational or professional qualifications and employment.

The WLD PTFA provides a range of events throughout the school year. The ages of the children that we cater to are 3 years up to 11 years. The events that we hold for the children are discos, craft activities, breakfast with santa. We offer many other activities for the whole family to come along to and enjoy these include, family quiz and bingo nights, music festivals, summer and Christmas fairs.

The Nelson District Nursing Association is a charity which can provide help in various ways to sick, needy persons resident in the township of Nelson.

THE PTFA HOLD DISCO, MOVIES NIGHTS AND FAYRES THROUGHTOUT THE YEAR FOR THE CHILDRENS ENJOYMENT AND TO RAISE MONIES FOR SCHOOLTHEY HAVE 2 BAGS TO SCHOOL COLLECTIONS EACH YEAR. SELL ICE CREAMS IN THE SUMMERWE ARE NOW SET UP WITH THE EASYFUNDRAISING ORGANISATION

Provide and present public concerts and recitals so as to promote and develop the appreciation of music.

Women's Institute activities.

Grant income to Melling CEPS for charitable purposes. Grants also provided to promote education (including social and physical training and religious education of residents) in the Parish of Melling with Wrayton.

Range of fundraising activities including- annual family summer barbeque - beetle drive - children's discos - supermarket bag packing - car treasure hunt - ladies evening (christmas).

The objectives of the CIO are to preserve buildings, monuments & features of historic, architectural and cultural significance. Also to promote awareness of heritage value in order to facilitate action and sustain at risk local assets.
