Weekly provision of recorded media to registered visually impaired persons in the Rossendale area, which contain information and news from the local paper and also magazine type articles. Electronic readers are supplied where necessary.

SCHOOL FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS

Women's projects and education.

Recruit volunteers to assist local charitable activities to provide practical support for asylum seekers and refugees. Financial support for the provision of English language tutoring.Provide essential items of household equipment and furniture for those newly granted refugee status.

To relieve the needs and preserve and protect the good health of people affected by myeloma residing in the West Lancs and Merseyside area, their families and carers, through the provision of a support group and other such activities, services, advice and information as the trustees deem fit with the aim of facilitating the best possible care of such persons and raise awareness of myeloma.

School events eg: discos, christmas fairs etc

Provides headquarters and meeting place for local Scout, Cub & Beaver groups. Quarterly meetings of Senior Scouting organisations are held here. The groups' camping and oudoor equipment is stored. Premises are open to local organisations, i.e. Ladies Keep Fit and Ladies Yoga classes, Jumble sales and Quiz Nights. There is off road parkng, wheel chair access, kitchen and toilet facilities.

To raise money for Gawthorpe Hall by having lunches, talks.

Raffles, Discos, Sponsored Events, Fashion Show, Bingo

Payment of grants to elderly people for the relief of poverty.

Promoting the recitation of the Holy Quran through providing specialist education and training for regular individuals, and for faith leaders via providing various courses in Quranic Arts to produce more Qari's, (Quranic Artists).Promoting interfaith harmony by organizing and taking part in global interfaith conferences.Poverty relief & providing religious advice to spread love, peace & unity!

The charity's main objecitve is the instruction of girls of all classes in the principals of discipline,loyalty and good citizenship.

To encourage high standards of architectture and town planning in Lancaster;to stimulate public interest in the history and character of the town and its environs; to pursue these ends by means of meetings, exhibitions, lectures, publication and other forms of publicity.

Education funding

Hold money raising events for nominated charities or rotary charities in general. Donations given to local organisations, schools, youth clubs etc. and international charities for polio eradication, water provision and poverty relief.

The Club raises funds to donate to local and international charities, groups and individuals that are in need of support.

To aid with the educational development of the schools children, by holding various events to raise funds. These are then spent on various different things, such as books, outdoor play equipment, school trips, etc.

Arts and crafts, music and drama, handicrafts, health and social welfare, education improve and develop conditions of rural care. It seeks to give women the opportunity of working together through the Women's Institute Organisation, and of putting into practice those ideals for which it stands.

Womens Institute activities. Informing members and lobbying parliament about current issues i.e. environmental and contributing efforts to local causes.

Our activities at present are transcribing gravestones, then recording on cd's for sale to members. Monthly meetings with speakers on family history subjects and visits to local historical places. We also open our premises every Monday for 2 hours where members can research and get advice and help if needed. To promote ourselves more widely, we attend local shows whenever possible.
