The Trust raises funds for the support of the running costs of a school for deaf children, a day care centre for disabled children and a Nursing Training College in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu District, South India. AVSED is a local charity working to prevent social isolation & loneliness for Aireborough (LS19 & 20) seniors by supporting happy, healthy & independent living. We provide activities (physical exercise, social & friendship, health groups inc dementia, inclusion & lunch club and trips) alongside services (transport, needs assessment, handyman, befriending, digital & home support).

WE PROVIDE A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES TO OLDER PEOPLE AGED 60+ LIVING IN THE CROSSGATES AND SURROUNDING LS15 DISTRICTS TO PROMOTE HEALTHY AND INDEPENDANT LIVING AND TO REDUCE SOCIAL ISOLATION. THIS INCLUDES ADVOCACY, ADVICE, INFORMATION AND PRACTICAL SUPPORT, AS WELL AS GROUPS FOR EXERCISE AND WELL BEING, CREATIVE ARTS AND PURELY SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES.

THE LIC IS RUNNING THE MOSQUE AND COMMUNITY CENTRE, WHICH PROVIDES FOR SOCIAL, CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.THE CHARITY ALSO HAS FUNERAL SERVICES AND THE COST FOR THESE SERVICES IS MADE DIRECTLY BY THE DONOR.

The charity is a Christian Church mainly (not exclusively) focus on the Chinese population in West Yorkshire; both local residents and overseas students. The church also runs a Chinese school on every Saturday during school teams teaching Chinese to the local born Chinese. Pastors of the church are also heavily involved in the universities and hospital chaplaincies.
