A cadet training centre based on Leeds Liverpool canal near Thwaites Mills one of 400 spread across the UK. We currently have 60 cadets trained by 15 volunteers.

Friends of Thorner PTA are committed to raise money to support Thorner Church of England Primary School and enhance the provision for the young people who attend the school. The committee consists of 7 people who work hard to provide events throughout the year which are a social draw for the school community.

Music choral society performing all forms of music both secular & modern. Affiliated members of the National Federation of Music Societies - Making Music.

Maintain and manage the Community Centre owned by Leeds City Council. Organise lettings and use of the building.

SCOUTING ACTIVITIES

We hold regular meetings on the third Saturday in the month with the exception of December.Some meetings have a business section followed by a talk or demonstration given by a visiting textile artist. Other meetings are used to practice and share our skills.We also demonstrate our crafts at local events and shows.

To hold funds of gifts, legacies, donations, etc. for the benefit of Ackworth School.

Education & training of young people

Publication of a literary and periodical magazine called Stand which promotes literary events and makes donations to bodies with similar aims and objectives.

Education of the public and members of the regiment in the history and military accomplishments of the regiment by public exhibition of the collection in a museum. Restoration, conservation, repair, reconstruction and preservation of objects in the collection.

The Charity,as Church is involved in the advancement and promotion of the Christian Religion.It provides a place of worship to adults and young people, free Sunday School classes for children from the local community.The church also provides a place for prayer and meetings for women,and a safe environment away from bad influence for the youth.

Purchases experiences and equipment to be used by the children at school.

Rawdah Trust promotes Islamic learning and spirituality through educational activities for men, women, and children. It organises classes, courses, and gatherings focused on enhancing religious understanding, personal development, and community service. The charity supports individuals in deepening their faith and benefitting the wider community.

As a church we provide facilities for public worship. We also minister to the elderly and sick through visitation. We provide care and support for those with spiritual and emotional needs. We also visit many retirement homes and hold short services. In addition we support all our local primary schools with religious education through a bible exhibition.

RAISING EXTRA FUNDING FOR OULTON PRIMARY SCHOOL

Cookridge Village Scout Group is part of the Scout Association movement, the aim of which is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international community. Scouting prepares young people with skills for life.

The club's purpose is to supply children in North Leeds the facility to train and play rugby league. Teams at various age groups and registered with Yorkshire Juniors and Youth Rugby League. All coaches in the club have their official coaching certificiates.

We are a parent teachers association raising funds for Crossley Street Primary school, by means of holding fund raising events. Events include disco's and fairs.

Running of weekly educational courses, interactive parenting workshops, and provision of international one-on-one long distance learning. The charity also organises cross communal learning evenings and heritage trips abroad.

Weekly Christian worship meetings. Work with the elderly & people with disabilities.Partner local agencies.Continue to develop links with the local community through services & meetings.
