SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR 10 TO 26 YEAR OLDS

We are members of the Scouts Association and provide organised activities for young people. Our Beaver section covers 6-8yrs, Cubs 8-10yrs and Scouts 10-14yrs. Scouts are doers and give-it-a-goers. We go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.

The Charity keeps in touch with the school through the Foundation Governors' attendance at meetings and directly with the Head teacher.

Women Who Can (CIO) is a charity based in Leicester and Leicestershire that focuses on empowering young women. Our aim is to support young women in their personal and professional journeys by providing practical programmes, workshops, educational resources, and a community network. Our purpose is to instil knowledge and confidence in women and help them achieve their full potential in life.

Provision of village hall facilities for local & wider community use.

We offer free counselling for those facing an unintended pregnancy. Counselling is also offered to those who are suffering from baby loss following an abortion, miscarriage or stillbirth. All counsellers are fully trained and supervised

Organising fundraising events to raise money used for financial support to Burbage Church of England Infant School and Burbage Junior School, Burbage, Leicestershire.

Agar Nook Community Association (ANCA) provides practical facilities and support to enable volunteers and user groups to put on events and activities at Agar Nook Community Centre, benefiting residents of Agar Nook and other surrounding neighborhoods.

Part of worldwide Rotary movement providing fellowship and goodwill amongst the business community and raising money for good causes locally and internationally.

The main source of our income is via the rental income received through four cottages owned by the charity. During 2010 we undertook major refurbishment work to two of those cottages and are looking to upgrade a further cottage this year in respect of improved heating and insulation.

We as Trustees provide Farndon Village Memorial Hall for the benefit of the Community as a whole

Providing opportunities for members to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups. These groups range from American Civil War to Yoga and include various arts and crafts, reading and languages as well as physical pursuits such as Walking and Line Dancing.

We address the issues of isolation, lack of information, and loneliness experienced by migrants, refugees and their families, with particular emphasis on those facing health and immigration issues. We seeks to strengthen community relations by uniting individuals and offering key information, guidance, and training.

Operation of Anstey Library on behalf of Leics Library Service.Provision of community facilities for the local area.

The principal activities of the company in the year under review were those of organising community activities in the area of benefit. In particular, workimg with the voluntary and statutory organisations to promote and develope such activities involving the residents of the area, especially children, young people, elderly people and people with learning difficulties.

Educate young people through their leisure time activities so as to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and that their conditions of life may be improved.

To promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social & spiritual potentials as individuals using progressive training based on the Scout promise and law.

Old Dalby School PTA is a group of parents and staff volunteers. This group raises money for Old Dalby School by running a busy and varied programme of events throughout the school year.
