The Museum is unique, because when the last master hosier died in 1952, the workshop was locked and left, leaving seventeenth century frames intact with other equipment. Part of the Museum consists of a modified seventeenth century farmhouse, that was used as the family residence for the master hosiers over the decades.

A Brass Band that provides musical tuition to members and promotes music through holding concerts for the general public and performing at concerts, fetes and other general events.

The Society organises an annual series of lectures, usually held in Leicester New Walk Museum, for the advancement of education in Literature, Science and the Arts. It publishes proceedings and supports the museum. Natural History and Geology Sections organise further events. The Society has close links with Leicester, De Montfort and Loughborough universities and Leicester City Council.

Cricks Retreat is an almshouse charity providing housing for people over the age of 55 years.

Providing support to Witherley Primary School, including running events held outside school hours which are open to all connected with the school including residents of the village and nearby town of Atherstone. SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL

We aim to raise funds for resources and enhancing the educational opportunities within Badgerbrook Primary School. Activities so far have included a circus, non-school uniform days, cake sales, raffles, discos, someone special pop-up shops, whole school challenges, pre-loved uniform sales, textile recycling and events with the local community. We also run free events to build a sense of community.
