Promotion of good physical & mental health among men in Leighton Buzzard, through organising walks & recreational activities that provide support for their mental health & access to peer support; providing access to mental health resources and information; signposting to appropriate mental support/counselling when required; & workshops on associated topics to support mental & physical wellbeing.

Community Larder is one of our two primary projects. This project takes fresh food waste, short life fresh food or surplus stock and distributes it to those in need. We aim to give our Service Users the choice within food groups and promote a healthy balanced diet including protein. The food groups are bread, cakes, pastries, vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, cheese, eggs and vegan products.

Distribution of books, videos, cd's of worship programmes. Meetings and religious worship held at local sikh temples and houses.

A charity supporting people with Learning Disabilities and their families: Current activities include:Regular social Family Disco for our beneficiaries and their family and friendsA club for sociable young minded adults with learning disabilities. (Age 18 to 30 to join) activities, outings and weekends away. Provides a supportive environment to meet, socialise and enjoy time with friend

Organsiation of fund raising activities for children and their parents/carers. Events include Summer Fun day, school discos, Christmas bazaar and Easter events. Evening activies include quiz nights, bingo nights and games evenings. We also raise funds by recycling clothes.

Scouting

The objectives of the BFHS are to advance the education of the public in the study of Family History. We publish a quarterly journal, hold monthly meetings (www.bfhs.org.uk), provide research, publish CDs of Beds Parish Registers, publish Monumental Inscriptions from Churchyards within Beds, run a bookstall & library, provide a range of look-up services and carry out other relevant activities.

sundon park centre trust, manages a community centre in co-operation with Sundon Park Baptist Church to promote good health and well being through leisure activities, health promoting activites for all residents of Luton's Sundon Park ward and surounding district. To relieve social isolation and to promote intergration within the community.

As a body of Christ we reach out to the community by the word of God and we support various food banks.

Religious activities: Regular public worship, prayer. Bible study; preaching and teaching; baptism, as defined in the Celestial Church of Christ (ccc). Declaration of Principle: evangelism and mission. The teaching, encouragement, welcome and inclusion of young people. encouraging relationships with other churches.

Raising money for local and national children's charities/projects:SACA, a voluntary charity organisation is the organiser of the event -Birmingham to London Charity Bike Ride (Est. 1984). Every year a children's charity is nominated as a beneficiary for the annual ride by the riders and volunteers of SACA. SACA also run their own projects to benefit sick children and children with disabilities.

The advancement of the Christian religion in the United Kingdom for the benefit of the public through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures (public celebration of Christian festivals) producing and / or distributing literature on Christian faith to enlighten others about the Christian religion. Practising through philanthropy and other charitable activities globally.

Village hall for use to improve life of community

The Friends of Mary Seacole Housing Association work to prevent and relieving hardship and distress amongst persons who are in need by reason of homelessness, for the public benefit in the Luton area. We provide supported semi-independent accommodation for single people and provided life skills, credited and non accredited training and social activities to support the users back into independency.

To promote community activities for all age groups & provide a communal meeting place.

To advance the education of the pupils at Gill Blowers Nursery School by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the School.

The advancement of education in connection with the Roman Catholic Church in the Diocese of Northampton.

To advance the education of the pubic in general by providing information in all aspects of the transport heritage, vehicles and artefacts relating to bus and coach operation by the former United Counties Bus Company and other bus/coach companies in the Great Ouse Valley area.

Various fund-raising activities are carried out under the auspices of the Rotary Club (e.g. golf event, sporting dinner). Donations are received from individuals and organisations.
