Dunstable Men in Sheds is a member of the UK Men's Sheds Association. The Men's Shed movement provides a community based atmosphere for men over 50 to engage in hobbies, community projects and general socialising. We provide practical and emotional support to Asylum Seekers housed in Luton, mainly in local hotels. We do this chiefly though a twice weekly drop in where clothing and toiletries can be accessed and the provision of a social space with refreshments. Advocacy and support is provided by a number of trained volunteers. We work closely with partners including Care4Calais, Red Cross, Discover Islam.
