The village hall is used on several days of the week. The user groups include toddler group, occasional use by the local school, art classes and fitness classes, historical society, gardening club, church youth group and community library.The hall offers excellent facilities for meetings, lectures, receptions, exhibitions, coffee mornings, theatrical entertainments and dances.

Our charity is dedicated to rebuilding lives after brain injury for survivors and families. We cover Darlington, South Durham, Teesside, Hambleton and Richmondshire, delivering services and activities based at The Headway Hub in Darlington. As well as arts and crafts, trips out, ten-pin bowling, discussion groups and advice and information, we run awareness sessions and fundraising activities.

We support families, health and education professionals, and individuals who's lives are enlivened by those with a little extra chromosome...Down syndrome. Activities include 3-21, a monthly Saturday club where children can play and parents and carers can chat over coffee; Chatterbox, 3 Speech & Language groups for children aged 0-11; Professionals Network, supporting all professionals.

The Derwent Valley Light Railway Society (DVLRS) operates and maintains the last remaining stretch of the original Derwent Valley Light Railway (DVLR) that ran from York Foss Islands to Cliff Common near Selby. The railway is operated on behalf of and within the bounds of the Yorkshire Museum of Farming (YMF) at Murton, York, as an integral part of the Museum.

Provision of subsidised housing

The income for the trust having made allowances for the maintenance and administration of the land is applied for the charitable purposes for the general benefit of the inhabitant householder of the parish. Although the main benefit is applied in this way others are not excluded from the benefits.

More Than Books (MTB) is a Community Hub & Library serving South Scarborough, in particular the communities of Eastfield, Osgodby, Cayton, Crossgates, Seamer and Irton.MTB provides opportunities for people of all ages to access books and information sources, and to take part in activities and social events.
