The objectives of the Society are to stimulate public understanding of the sciences, including natural, physical, social and archaeological sciences, through lectures, grants, sponsorship and educational activities. The Society runs an annual series of around 20 public lectures, and maintains an interest in the Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, York, which it originally founded in the 1820s.

To give people HOPE and help. A church to to help children and people in need within the UK, Ukraine, Africa, Eastern Europe and different parts of the world who need immediate response to help.

We are an independent charity run by a bunch of dedicated volunteers and Greyhound owners. HGRC is self-funded and relies on the generosity of supporters who love Greyhounds. Many of the dogs we get have been gifted in by their owners or found abandoned. Hull Greyhound Rescue has a charity shop for sales of donated goods including dog supplies and in normal times arranges fundraising events.

Reflect is a free support service in North Yorkshire for anyone facing a Pregnancy Choice and for those in need of support after experiencing Pregnancy or Neonatal Loss.

Hall is used regularly by badminton club, senior citizens, W.I, football club, parish council & church. Handicraft workshops are held also whist drives & domino drives. Hall is available for celebratory functions ie: birthdays, weddings & anniversaries. Also used for fund raising events & by cycling clubs.

The major aim of the charity is to run a community hub. Fund raising has been undertaken to cover the cost of the land, building and fitting out which has been completed.

Rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick, orphaned and injured wildlife.

The objects of the charity are to educate the public in the dramatic and operatic arts, to further the development of public appreciation and taste in the said arts and to assist and further such charitable institutions and charitable purposes as the committee shall from time to time determine. The charity achieves these objects by public performances in various forms by its volunteer members.

The relief of persons in need resident in the area of benefit who are sick, convalescent, disabled or infirm by relieving their suffering or assisting their recovery.

To provide facilities/coaching and equipment so physically disabled people can play wheelchair basketball. The ages start from 6 yrs to 50+. Levels are beginners/recreational and competition (national league and international)The club raises awareness of disability through sport in and around the local community.

The Charity provides confidential emotional support to those who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those who may be at risk of suicide, with the aim of improving their emotional health and reducing the incidence of suicide. The Charity operates a telephone helpline which is open 24 hours a day; 365 days a year. Our support allows contacts to explore difficult feelings.

Provide facilities for the physical and mental training, recreation and social, moral and intellectual development through the medium of reading and recreation rooms, library, lecture classes, recreation and entertainments or otherwise as may be found expedient for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Hampsthwaite.

The Hillside Scout Group is based in the foothills of the North Yorkshire Moors just north of Thirsk. Through the Scout programme, we help develop children and teenagers of the surrounding area, from ages 6 to 16. Further, we have played a key role in providing a recreational field and building a new hall for both our Scout meetings and indoor sports for the whole community.

Provision of a community facility for the pursuit of educational and recreational activities.

To provide a Village Hall for the use of inhabitants of Great Ouseburn and the neighbourhood.

Various clubs and societies of all ages meet, including AA, Athletics Club, Keep Fit, Reeth Brass Band, Reeth District Memorial Hall Management Committee, Open Minds, Reeth Parish Council, Reeth Show Committee, Seated Exercise, Swaledale Seedlings, Swale Singers, Two Dales 1st Responders and Young Farmers. It is a venue for live music, dances and drama for the benefit of the community.

The organisation objects and its principal activity is to provide a playgroup for and to advance the education and interaction of children of pre school years within the vicinity of Egton, near Whitby, North Yorkshire.

The prevention or relief of poverty in York and surrounding area for the public benefit by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need and / or charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.

Provide a pleasant secure and cheap location for village community groups to meet and conduct their activities. Groups using the hall include beavers, cubs, scouts, guides, rainbows, brownies, senior citizens, whist, luncheon club, mothers and toddlers, exercise class, badminton, craft group, kick boxing, and phisiotherapy.

Whitby Whaler U3A aims to increase and widen the provision of informal adult learning opportunities for third agers throughout the Whitby area, to enable members to pursue their interests, keep active and make new friends, improving members lives and enriching the local community.

The "Pateley Shed" works for the public benefit addressing rural isolation & social exclusion amongst mainly men in Nidderdale N Yorkshire. A key driver is providing a renewed sense of belonging & purpose through the provision of facilities in which they can meet to undertake physical or recreational activities, learn & pass on skills; supporting each other and providing a "listening ear".
