The main activity of the Anthony Shaw Collection is to hold thematic displays of contemporary studio ceramics in its new home of York Art Gallery when it re opens in the spring of 2015. Loans are also made to national and international museums/exhibitions. An archive of the Collection is being built on-line and is available to view at www.anthonyshawcollection.org

We raise funds for veterans and serving soldiers in need, in the Teesside Area mainly by Association monthly raffles, functions, collections and donations. This year we have held several functions which have also raised funds To take veterans to Oswestry for necessary operations.

We provide a environment where people can participate in social activities including yoga, line & latin dancing, carpet bowls, over 60's physical exercise & over 60's club, parent & toddler group, quiz nights, annual pantomine, ceilidhs, shows, exhibitions & charitable events. The hall may be hired for family & public celebrations & is also used as a polling station.

The object of the charity is, in the interests of social welfare, to improve the conditions of the life of the inhabitants of the area, without distinction of political, religious or other opinions, by the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupation.(The area of benefit is the Parish of Thirlby, and the area within one mile of Thirlby Village Hall)

The object of the charity is to provide such benefits, of any kind not normally provided by the Local Education Authority, for Malton School, Malton, as agreed between the Charity's Governors and the Governors of the School, after consultation with the Local Authority. The income from the Endowment is available to be used in accordance with Clauses 15 and 16 of the Constitution.

Running of village community centre for village activities and for groups to hire

We provide in our building quiet recreational activities away from alcohol and the hurly-burly of public entertainment areas specifically for those at home from duty in the armed forces, and for the residents of the parish of Fylingdales.

General Fundraising activities to provide additional funds to Nun Monkton Foundation Primary School.

The charity raises funds to support Grewelthorpe Primary School, a small village school in a farming community. The fund helps to pay for transport and outings as well as enrichment activities that the children may not otherwise have access to.

The objects of the CIO are to provide and maintain facilities, being the village hall and playground, for the use of the inhabitants of the parish of Oswaldkirk in the county of North Yorkshire and the immediate vicinity without distinction of sex, political, religious or other opinions, including use for: meetings, lectures, classes including for the purposes of physical and mental well being; an

Grants are made towards repairs and conservation of Lastingham Church, together with purchases to enhance its facilities. Activities include general education about its history and activities. Fund-raising events included the traditional Lastingham Lecture and other lectures, garden parties and concerts.

Provide a building for community use

To hold meetings on Tuesday mornings from 1st Tuesday in October until last Tuesday of April, which is the A.G.M. for retired or semi-retired men, where lectures on subjects of interest for this category of men. Time is allowed before for fraternisation. Subjects include health, travel, financial and the work of other societies.

Contributing to and advancing the education of the pupils of Newby and Scalby Primary School.

Makes grants to individuals and organisations in the Sutton Howgrave area for education, training and relief for the poor.
