FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS TO GENERATE INCOME TO COMPLETE THE RESTORATION OF THE ROYAL HALL IN HARROGATE.

To promote beekeeping through education and training for the benefit of the environment and mankind because of the important role of bees in the production of food. Children/young people, people with disabilities and special needs and other charities/voluntary bodies are also beneficiaries.

Educational grants

To support the activities and maintenance of St. Mary's Church, Scarborough.

The raising of money for local & rotary international charities (such as Polio Plus and disaster aid); the funding of courses to help young people to raise aspirations or aquire leadership skills and support the local learning disability community as well as schools and community projects in Nepal.

The free provision for the registered blind or partially sighted of recordings of a weekly talking newspaper with local news, a monthly talking magazine with topics of interest and a talking books library service.

To raise money for Pickhill School for additional school trips, educational items, IT equipment etc.Fundraising events include Easter Fun Day, Strawberry Fair, Bonfire Celebrations, Shopping Events, Film Nights etc.

Sport and Recreation - Village Hall

Singing, chiefly concerts.

Provision of outdoor play and sports facilities and indoor recreation and play space

The charity raises funds by holding events and hiring out the hall to residents of the parish and others.That income is used to maintain the village hall and improve its facilities, then to offer the hall for use by all the inhabitants of the parish.

Freinds of Melsonby School

Meeting place for:- craft club - Yorkshire Country Womens Ass - social dancing - fund raising activities, parties etc.

Faith Ministries Rwanda is a charity set up to support Christian Mission and Poverty Relief in Rwanda. It may also be used in other parts of sub-Saharan Africa. It works principally through supporting Charles and Juliet Semwaga in their work in Rwanda

Membership of the Orchestra is open to players of all the standard orchestral instruments. The Orchestra rehearses weekly during school terms and gives three public concerts per year.

Proving sporting activities and facilities to Barton and surrounding villages

LEAP enables students [14 to 19] to set up their own companies for a year, learning business skills, teamwork and problem solving. The programme helps them gain confidence and skills, which helps them with interviews for jobs and/or University. LEAP is run by volunteers from schools and local businesses.

Bagby and Balk Village society is a charity set up to support the community. We insure and maintain a playpark which is a hub for children / parents and grandparents. We host community events and social activities. We support the local football team and insure the sports field.
