Scouts take part in activities that contribute to the community and improve life chances. The selection of activities and experiences is based around three main themes: outdoor and adventure, world and skills. Our sections have use of a designated facility which is also used by the local Guide Unit.

The charity provides and offers structured activities for young people aged 8-19 years, such as summer camps, music, art projects as well as other indoor & outdoor activities. We also offer training to volunteers who are interested in working with young people and other relevant training such as first aid, child protection, health & safety etc. We also offer achievement awards to young people.

PRIMARY SCHOOL FUND FOR COLLECTION OF UNIFORM MONIES, PHOTOS, SCHOOL OUTINGS, ANY EXTRA FUNDS INCLUDING DONATIONS ARE USED TO PAY FOR BOOKS/EQUIPMENT NEEDS THE SCHOOL MAY HAVE WHICH MAY NOT BE COVERED BY THE ANNUAL BUDGET

Streets4Christ aims to promote awareness and combat hunger, poverty, and suffering amongst the homeless and low waged community, by working with others to empower individuals and communities to effect change in the distribution of food and resources. On a weekly basis a free a 3 course meal and refreshment are provided. Food is also distributed to the street homeless.

As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. The South West Nottinghamshire Scout District supports Explorer Scout Units and the Scout Groups across Broxtowe District to encourage the young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, we support our members by providing the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed.

The charities object is to help young homeless people to make informed choices which take them out of homelessness. Providing advice and guidance to help them find secure placements or tenancies and to provide outreach support afterwards.

Our charity activities range from providing a luncheon club for the elderly Chinese and the local community, providing housing, welfare, health advice & checks, translation services between agencies or personal organising events for New Year, Mooncake, Chill in the Park, Christmas and fundraising events. We provide educational courses e.g. computing, English, hygiene flower arranging, Gu Zheng Tia

Communinty Centre. Hiring out of facilities and fund raising activities for the village.

The Hall can accommodate up to 150 people of all ages for their own planned activites covering normal hours of business and evening times up to midnight. A register of users is kept as is payment for Hall hire. Insurance cover is maintained.

THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF A VILLAGE HALL FOR THE USE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF ELSTON AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD THEREOF WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, INCLUDING USE FOR MEETINGS, LECTURES AND CLASSES, AND FOR OTHER FORMS OF RECREATION AND LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION, WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS.

We are closing down the Church aspect and will focus solely on our community/charitable work. To relieve hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of goods or services of any kind, including through the provision of counselling and support in England or any part of the world as the trustees from time to time may think fit.
