The charity owns offices to accommodate the International Coordinating Team (ICT) of Operation Mobilisation(OM) An international partnership operating in over 110 countries. The ICT co-ordinates decision making throughout the OM world, and supplies services and resources vital to the functioning of OM internationally.

The main object of the charity is to support the Catholic Church in mission dioceses throughout the world. Christian leadership training through PhD scholarships, literature resources and publisher development and preaching training.

Provides grant funding to rainforest communities to support their work in protecting at-risk forest and ensure their voice is heard in agreements that affect the future of rainforest.Promotes a greater understanding of the role that forest communities play in keeping rainforest ecosystems intact and the role that rainforests play in supporting life across the planet.

The GNDR's activities centre around the collaborative action in support of implementing the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) including the Views from the Frontline (VFL) initiative which produces reports of progress. The HFA was adopted in 2005 at the World Conference on Disaster Reduction held in Hyogo, Japan, to substantially reduce the loss of lives and livelihoods caused by disasters.
