Douai Abbey is a community of Benedictine monks who are involved in educational, pastoral and other work. Food For All distributes around 6,000 free, nutritionally balanced meals to the homeless and disadvantaged on a daily basis. FFA targets the homeless, single parents, the elderly, the unemployed, people suffering from mental and physical disabilities and the marginalised. FFA is based on the philosophy of community self-help.

Daisy's Dream is a professional support service which responds to the needs of children and families affected by life threatening illness or bereavement. We offer a flexible service which is tailored to meet the individual needs of each child and their family. This may include telephone support and advice, group events, home and school visits for the child or young person.

Reading Mencap is a local charity, which aims to provide help and support for people with a learning disability, and their families, in the Reading area.

Most families take recreational play for granted. For families of children with special needs, this is impossible for some and extremely difficult for most. Swings & Smiles provides a fun and safe facility where children (SEND and their siblings) can enjoy play in a family setting appropriate to their needs and abilities. Outreach, online and sibling support services are also provided.

We have opened our purpose built Islamic Centre and are now open for daily prayers. Alongside this we have also started a supplementary (evening) school for children to learn about Islam and the Arabic language using modern textbooks. We happily host local schools and volunteer groups to learn more about Islam and we hope to provide further services to the community.
