SOWRA aims to advance the standards and raise awareness of regional anaesthesia and pain management amongst the general public and medical profession. SOWRA provides a forum for networking for health professionals, provides training and educational activities and supports clinical and basic science research in the field of regional anaesthesia and pain management through research grants.

Maintaining and developing Leigh House as a base for various voluntary sector groups working in Radstock and the wider north east Somerset area.

The charity tries to promote the well being of the elderly by providing a range of day to day activities to improve their quality of life and enables or assists them to maintain a measure of independance.

Provision and maintenance of a village hall for the Parish of Milverton, including lettings management, fund-raising and seeking grant funding for capital expenditure for building improvements. We actively encourage new activities that might appeal to residents, e.g. computer, keep-fit, literature and theatrical events, as well as promoting the village hall as a centre for community activities.

our aim is to give support to men who have been sexually abused and there families in the south west of England which will cover Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset

Advancing knowledge about the life, work and times of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and his circle, and in the places associated with them; and supporting Coleridge Cottage in Nether Stowey as a centre of Coleridge interest, in co-operation with the National Trust.

To promote the general purpose of the work of the Young Men's Christian Association Movement for the physical, intellectual and spiritual, fitness, training and well being of youth in accordance with the rules and principles adopted by the National Council of YMCAs. Area of benefit being South West England only.

To preserve and present the history of aviation in the southwest of England in general, and the Blackdown Hills in particular, and to inform and educate the general public of that history through a programme of communication (e.g. via web-site, newsletters, lectures & talks, etc.), events and displays.

Provide a venue for local institutions, societies and clubs to meet and to be a social centre for the village and surrounding area

Hall is used regularly by Headway charity, local groups (inc Gardening, Badminton, Short Mat Bowls, Japanese Embroidery, National Trust, Music Practice, Thai Chi,) Wookey Parish Council and monthly Church breakfast.Single bookings include parties, wedding & christening receptions and funeral wakes, charity functions and the annual village fete. Outside there is a children's play area

We support residents and organisations local to the parishes of Castle Cary and Ansford through the provision of food, essentials and grants, both material and monetary, in order to offset financial hardship and emotional distress.

THE CHARITY OWNS A PROPERTY IN PITMINSTER CALLED CHURCH ROW, WHICH CONSISTS OF FIVE TWO-BEDROOMED COTTAGES, BUILT IN 1830 AS ALMSHOUSES FOR THE POOR OF THE VILLAGE. THESE ARE LET AT A VERY REASONABLE RENT. A PROPORTION OF THE INCOME, AFTER EXPENSES, IS DIVIDED BETWEEN THE CHURCH AND THE PARISH CHARITY IN THE PROPORTIONS 2/3 TO 1/3.

The charity exists to provide live orchestral music to the community. We hold 3 or 4 symphony concerts each year. Soloists are often young people who live, or used to go to school, in our area. Adults & students play in the orchestra.

We maintain and where necessary improve the property (farm land and dwelling) that constitute the charity's permanent endowment, then distribute an equal sum to each of the three parishes as required by the governing document; they in turn distrubute the money within their parish.
