Lower Moss Wood is an educational nature reserve and wildlife hospital . It provides a place for schools, disabled visitors, environmental groups and others to come and learn about conservation and the environment. The wildlife hospital takes in any orphaned, sick or injured wild animal or bird for care. Lower Moss Wood is also a private nature reserve.

The Trustees continue to raise funds to meet the objectives of the charity

Religious and other charitable activities, and provision of buildings/facilities/open space.

The current activity is the maintenance and operation as a heritage attraction of 84 Plymouth Grove, Manchester, the home of Mrs Elizabeth Gaskell. The house is open to the public and runs a programme of activities and events.

Regular public acts of worship open to all. Teach Christianity via sermons, courses, small groups and religious assemblies in schools. Pastoral work e.g. visiting the sick and bereaved. Promote Christianity through the staging of events and services, clubs and meetings with a Christian ethos. Support other charities financially and with prayer.

WAC is a vibrant youth project blending youth work, canoes and water. Focusing on developing confidence and self esteem, awareness of self, others and our environment communication and collaborative working. Young people 8 to 19 join our youth clubs, whereas groups of all ages book canoeing sessions. WAC aims to work with those most affected by disability, discrimination and disadvantage.

NORMAL CHURCH ACTIVITIES.

Scout Group comprising 4 training sections (beavers, cubs, scouts, explorers) with ages from 6 to 18. Ormside Mill is the perfect location for groups of young people and adults to undertake residential stays. AALA (Adventurous Activities Licencing Association) registered we offer a variety of adventurous activities, including outdoor pursuits, training, workshops, group work and environmental studies.Ormside Mill can accommodate self catered groups of up to 20 people & up to 20 campers.

We provide a facility for the local community and small groups to meet and take part in community activities. Including a social meeting point, a focus for the elderly, hosting visits from vulnerable residents of York House, Seashell Trust and Cheadle Royal Hospital. We also provide volunteering opportunities for patients at the end of treatment at the eating disorder clinic.
