It organises events such as the Small Ships' Races to promote Sail Training, runs international exchanges with other Sail Training organisations, and encourages greater participation. It gathers evidence of the outcomes and actively promotes Sail Training and its benefits.

Chapter2 supports organisations that wish to provide a mentoring programme for young persons and in particular boys growing up with an absent father. This is achieved by providing; recruitment, training, equipping and assessment of potential mentors, provision of leisure time activities, ongoing support and access to a network of referral agencies. Current operations are in the Reading area.
