The NBCS Foundation's objective is the relief and rehabilitation of those in need due to financial hardship, ill-health and alcohol and drug dependency through grant funding places at rehabilitation centres and through grant funding national initiatives which are focused on the rehabilitation of individuals who are committing crime because of their alcohol and drug dependency.

Young at Heart offers help and support to families of babies and children receiving treatment for a cardiac condition at the Birmingham Children's Hospital. We provide ward visits for families and work with the Heart Unit at the Birmingham Childrens Hospital. Our aim is to bring the families together at social events, where they can meet with other families, share experiences and make new friends.

The charity has continued with its aim of completing and publishing our Director's PhD on possible influences of breathing quality on outcome in children with cerebral palsy. Picturing Health uses film and art in Public Health worldwide. We make films to train health workers, inform patients, promote community discussion and disseminate research findings. We evaluate the effectiveness of our work and build capacity of film makers and clinicians to make health films.
