Maverick Theatre Company encourages new writing and employs a theatre for all approach thus enabling traditionally non theatre audiences to embrace live performance. In the humble beginning, the Sunderland congregation had its first Indian Orthodox spiritual gathering at the Sunderland Royal Hospital Chapel on July 8 2004. As a sign of the readiness to share the Christian fraternity, the Sunderland Catholic community and the vicar permitted us to use the chapel for our spiritual needs and worship. The Joe Gilligan Trust exists to support and improve the lives of teenagers and young adults fighting Cancer. As Joe was a drummer, the trust also provides performance opportunities for young musicians for example - gigs, shows & professional mentoring. The majority of our fundraising is through music and the performing arts.

We run - concerts that make the live performance of baroque music available to people in the Haslemere area and especially to the students of local music teachers - competitions with well qualified judges that help to raise the standard of younger string players and offer the winner and runners up a great opportunity to perform alongside professionals in a public concert.
