The work of the Centre as a community anchor is carried out by a team of staff and volunteers, who deliver services to the local area to meet the needs of local people. Current activities improve the fitness and health, provide food for those in poverty, deliver early years education, improve life skills and employment opportunities and reduce isolation of local older people.

Delivering targeted support through mentoring, arts and sports programmes to local children, young people and families.

We aim to provide services and support to the local community in areas such as Food Poverty, Mental Health support, reducing Social Isolation, supporting people with Disabilities, and supporting people back into Skills training and Employment.

A member-led organisation creating innovative, thought-provoking performance primarily to raise greater awareness and understanding of a variety of social and cultural issues from a disability perspective. Providing opportunities for training, confidence building & meaningful social interaction to reduce social isolation and signposting to other in/formal learning and employment opportunities.

Provide opportunities for the children to make friends and to trust adults other than family members.4. Encourage children to share with others.5. Provide stimulating activities and play experiences which they may not have available at home which will enable them to develop physically.

We are a writing development agency running workshops, literature events, seminars, running competitions and occasional events. As part of our activities, from time to time we publish physical books averaging 2 per year and e-books averaging 2 per year.

We alleviate child poverty in Trafford and surrounding areas by providing free, preloved clothing and essentials to families in crisis. By redistributing donations, we support over 1,000 children yearly, promoting sustainability and reducing financial strain on families. Our services also address seasonal needs and work closely with local referral partners to ensure comprehensive support.

Belmont Community Housing, BCH, is a family funded charity with the objective of sponsoring or partly funding the building of new homes for people / families unable to secure a decent place of their own.Presently we are working in partnership with the charity, Housing People Building Communities, HPBC. Their site at St; Williams in Ince, Wigan, is now complete & BCH has sponsored 3 homes.

PROMOTING THE WHOLE MISSION OFTHE CHURCH THROUGH PROVISION OF ACTIVITIES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS, PARENTSAND TODDLERS AND OTHER SPECIAL NEED GROUPS. SUPPORTING OTHERCHARITIES IN THE UK AND OVERSEAS

The Greater Manchester Transport Society exists to maintain a museum for the purpose of advancing the education of the public in the nature of public transport within the United Kingdom and the historical development of all aspects of such public transport with particular emphasis upon the historical aspects of road passenger transport in the counties of Greater Manchester Cheshire and Lancashire.

The relief of poverty by assisting persons in need to build their homes

Wigan Little Theatre is a voluntary organisation, run by and for anyone interested in providing high quality, wide ranging, traditional and innovative theatre, accessible to all.

We work with parents and other adults who have suffered the traumatising effects of war, torture and displacement. Through our work with refugees and people seeking asylum, we seek to improve their life chances and their mental health and wellbeing. We provide therapy, often with horticulture. We also offer practical support with benefits, education and housing matters.

The Edward Holt Trust operates across Greater Manchester. Its principal activity is maintaining Holt House in Didsbury, which provides accommodation for older people with limited means. Recently the Trust has sought ways to have a more strategic impact on disadvantaged people in the area by assisting a number of homelessness projects with capital funds and other support costs.

CARRYING OUT ALL THE RELEGIOUS ACTIVITIES, RAISING FUNDS FOR CHARITY, LOOKING AFTER OLD AND YOUNG PEOPLEIN GREATER MANCHESTER AREA

Breastfeeding Together is a registered charity providing positive peer support from pregnancy to early years and beyond. We aim to improve the health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities within communities by providing pregnancy, parenting and infant feeding information and support in a variety of ways.

The prevention or relief of poverty in the Wigan and Leigh area, in particular but not exclusively, by the provision of support, food and shelter to people who are homeless or individuals in need.

Community Little Hulton's mission is to inspire today's youth and to bring the community together to enhance everybody's well-being. We are CommUNITY Little, Hulton. Local people work together to make things better for our community. We run a community hub, Peel Park Pavilion, which provides a range of services to support our community, including the Youth Unity youth project.

The Charles Halle Foundation raises funds to assist the Halle Concerts Society in its non-core activities and in particular to finance foreign tours by the Halle Orchestra, to create opportunities to encourage young British astists and composers, to provide special concerts for young people and to support the Halle's education and outreach programme.

Think Ahead offers help to Stroke Survivors, their families and carers across Wigan and Leigh to improve the quality of their lives by providing friendship, information, advice and education together with opportunities for interaction with other members by organising outings, respite breaks and appropriate social activities.

Namely to use all lawful means to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate suffering of animals;To carry out other practical animal welfare services such as rehoming animals and providing veterinary treatment in the Wigan, Leigh and District area. To conduct humane education. To operate a charity shop, the profits from which help to fund the above services.

Holistic support for women & girls, who have experienced significant adversity helping them build their confidence so they can thrive. Activities : Health & wellbeing, Befriending service for single mothers, confidence building, Cultural awareness on Cancer & domestic abuse , dance therapy , Heritage, practical & emotional support , skill acquisition, Pidgin English translation, Community Research

a) To provide specialist support services to tackle Gender Based Violence (GBV)B amongst Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) and to emphasise on the impact it has on children.(b) To educate, equip, empower and impact knowledge and raise awareness by conducting regular workshops on thefundamental effects and consequences of GBV.
