The relief of poverty by assisting persons in need to build their homes

The Edward Holt Trust operates across Greater Manchester. Its principal activity is maintaining Holt House in Didsbury, which provides accommodation for older people with limited means. Recently the Trust has sought ways to have a more strategic impact on disadvantaged people in the area by assisting a number of homelessness projects with capital funds and other support costs.

Wigan Little Theatre is a voluntary organisation, run by and for anyone interested in providing high quality, wide ranging, traditional and innovative theatre, accessible to all.

Think Ahead offers help to Stroke Survivors, their families and carers across Wigan and Leigh to improve the quality of their lives by providing friendship, information, advice and education together with opportunities for interaction with other members by organising outings, respite breaks and appropriate social activities.

We aim to provide services and support to the local community in areas such as Food Poverty, Mental Health support, reducing Social Isolation, supporting people with Disabilities, and supporting people back into Skills training and Employment.

Our aims and objectives are to provide for the relief of women and their children who have been physically, sexually and emotionally and/or mentally abuse within an intimate or family relationship throughout the United Kingdom. Also, to advance public and professional education and understanding of the issues of domestic violence/abuse throughout the United Kingdom.

The charity delivers activities that help the needs of the local community by designing, planning and implementing programmes that increase individuals physical activity levels, aid greater academic achievement, increase health and social wellbeing and increase the skills of local community members and develop community togetherness.

Wythenshawe Community Church and Wythenshawe Youth and Community Centre provides services for the community. We aim to improve the social wellbeing of all members of the community and in so doing fulfilling the Lord's commandments.

We run activities for ethnic communities of Greater Manchester, including:- sports and exercise opportunities;- youth work;- information resources in various languages on health, employment, domestic violence, environmental, financial and other relevant issues;- wellbeing sessions;- nature workshops;- awareness campaigns.

The Hideaway aims to improve the conditions of life of children and young people in the Greater Manchester area by providing facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation; to help and educate children and young people so as to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals.

We provide consistent, empowering and engaging support to families in need across the cities of Salford and Manchester. We give vital baby and household essentials to the most vulnerable families. Our Stay & Play sessions give children and their families an opportunity to bond and have fun together, away from the stresses of home. We help women to achieve their Breastfeeding goals.

We are a writing development agency running workshops, literature events, seminars, running competitions and occasional events. As part of our activities, from time to time we publish physical books averaging 2 per year and e-books averaging 2 per year.
