Charity and VCS support Charities

The charity provides funds to support the health & welfare of hospital patients. Funds are raised by voluntary contribution at work, special fundraising events & bequests. Requests are received from NHS staff for support.

MEA House first opened in 1974 and currently has 23 tenants, which includes four tenants who are commercial entities involved with the voluntary sector. The majority of the offices are let to charities at below market rate.

THE PROMOTION OF THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THROUGH THE PROVISION OF ADVICE, SUPPORT & ASSISTANCE TO REGISTERED CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS IN NORTH ALLERDALETO ACT AS A RESOURCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE UP TO THE AGE OF 25 BY PROVIDING ADVICE & ASSISTANCE AND ORGANISING PROGRAMMES OF PHYSICAL, EDUCATIONAL & OTHER ACTIVITIES IN NORTH ALLERDALE

Raise funds and apply the funds of the Charity and any income thereof for the maintenance of the fabric of Christ Church and to promote and raise funds for other activities of benefit to the local community centred on the church.

Home-Start offers friendship and informal support to parents with young children, in local communities throughout the UK so that every child can have a good start in life. Home-Start Harwich supports local families by means of a family group as well as a home visiting service by volunteers.

Alstrom Syndrome UK provides information, family support and advice for individuals affected, their families, carers and professionals. We work closely with Birmingham Children's Hospital & Torbay Hospital to support the multi-disciplinary clinics for Alstrom patients. We raise money for research. We endeavour to raise awareness of Alstrom Syndrome. We provide a 24 hour answer-machine help-line.

Our core service is a free and confidential emotional support service service available nationally via the telephone, email, web chat and letter. The service uses male and female volunteers trained in basic counselling skills to respond to client enquiries.

The Trust has set up, established and is managing a facility for the advancement of community development and environmental improvement. It promotes volunteering for the benefit of the communities local to the community facility. It promotes the conservation, protection and improvement of the natural environment of the community facility and its open land.

The FutureSense Foundation supports development initiatives in education, livelihoods and child welfare. Unlike many charities, it is not simply a donor organisation and has a highly effective model for community development combining targeted funding alongside selected volunteers.The Foundation works by building long-term, sustainable partnerships with local NGOs & community based organisations.

CBO is an affiliated organisation and operates at grassroots level. Focusing on holistic approach our projects include; Information, Advice and Guidance, Welfare Rights, Immigration and Nationality, ESOL with Citizenship, Skills and Employment, Education and Training, Women?S Services, Young People Services, Health and Wellbeing, Volunteering, Community Services and Development initiatives.

The Branch's activities are to run a local veterinary clinic scheme to help those who need financial assistance to seek veterinary treatment, to operate two charity shops to raise funds for the charities activities, to run a cat rescue centre jointly with other local RSPCA branches, to carry out home visits, to rescue and re-home animals and to promote the work of the branch to the local community

The pincipal activity in the year was carrying out fundraising activities for UK and Worldwide charities. The Principal event through which funds are raised is an Annual Garden Party.

Brandwood Community Centre continues to serve as a very much needed community facility which acts as a focal point and is run by dedicated volunteers from the local community, with support from the local authority, private and other agencies to deliver a multi-functional community programme, that fulfills the role of a "one-stop-shop".

Wirral Mencap delivers services and creates opportunities that improve the quality of life of adults with learning disabilities and their families in Wirral. Services include information, advice and advocacy, training opportunities, social drop-in activities, volunteering, personal development, and campaigning and influencing, making the Wirral community more supportive, accessible and inclusive.

Shamrock Education Trust (SET) is a UK based charity which raises funds to support education and children's rights in Nepal. SET comprises three trustees who have all volunteered as teachers in Nepal.

To invest as a common fund for the benefit of the charities associated with the Spanish & Portuguese Jews' Congregation

The Retreat takes in unwanted, neglected, abused and sick animals and provides vet care, facilities for their rehabilitation, food, and a safe haven. We aim, where possible, to rehome animals (subject to home checks). The Retreat has volunteers who carry out the day to day care of the animals and fundraising.

Supporting unpaid Carers in East Sussex to continue in their caring role by providing FREE, high-quality, volunteer-led services that encourage independence and reduce isolation. Services include - Respite with befriending, Talk and Support, Computer/technical support, Respite for Healthcare appointments, Lunch club, Carers cafes, and online social events.

Home-Start South Leicestershire offers support, friendship & practical help to parents with young children (at least one under 5) who are experiencing difficulties. We respond to families needs through a combination of home-visiting support from volunteers, group work and courses.

The Foundation supported many loneliness projects during the year, it also gave grants to small UK charitiesDuring the year, volunteers carried out a variety of fundraising events and donations were made to The Mears Foundation. These events included sponsored walks, bucket collections, bake sales and auctions/raffles.

Highlights is a network of 65 volunteer groups in isolated rural communities in Cumbria, Northumberland and County Durham. In partnership we organise - and subsidise - over 150 high quality professional cultural events per year in village halls, schools and community centres

Ukraine Charity raises funds to support projects (e.g. refurbishment of orphanages, modern medical devices for hospitals, educational programs for orphaned or disabled children) that further the purposes we have set out for the charity.
