Education Charities

The charity's activities are centred around the Roman Catholic Benedictine Monastery of Ealing Abbey. They include the busy parish of Ealing Abbey, a non-denominational counselling service which seeks to fill a gap in NHS counselling and a centre for adult education where students study and seek to understand the monastic life.

Centre for Mental Health undertakes research and development activities in the field of mental health. These activities are particularly focussed on mental health care in prisons and the criminal justice system and on issues relating to the employment of people with mental health problems. Findings and recommendations are aimed at creating improvements on a national scale.

To further education through encouraging and enabling the adoption of information,learning and communications technologies in schools and in the home on a basis of equity of access to all with special regard to the education needs, including the provision of information, advice and funding support of those who have social or economic disadvantage or who have a disability.

Sport 4 Life UK (S4L) believes in a level playing field where every young person has the opportunity to create a better future for themselves. S4L is proud to provide the opportunity for young people aged 11-29 to prepare for, and move into, sustained education, employment or training, by improving their employability and key life skills - through its sports-themed mentoring and training services.

Our aim is to provide supported housing, for single homeless people and individuals completing rehabilitation treatment. The Charity sets out to offer extra support to those effected, to pay for counselling sessions and mentoring. We also offer accredited training and also group training such as Art Therapy and life skills to help encourage people back into independant living and back into work.

The Institute operates across the UK and is building international connections with other countries seeking to strengthen their own public health nursing practice. The mission of the iHV is to be a Centre of Excellence,- supporting the development of high quality health visiting practice,- so that health visitors can respond to the health needs of all children, families and communities

To promote social inclusion of disabled people in South East (1) by facilitating their involvement and participation in the planning and decision making structure of their communities, so that they can have equal rights and a voice and control over issues affecting their lives, and (2) by providing services including advice and guidance on welfare rights, health, housing and employment.

Promoting the interests and welfare of Students at Oxford Brookes University during their course of study and representing, supporting and advising Students; Being the recognised representative channel between Students and Oxford Brookes University and other external bodies; and providing social, cultural and recreational activities for the personal development of its Students.

We provide a range of support services for women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. This includes emergency refuge accommodation and supported housing at our move-on . We also provide a range of specialist services for children affected by domestic abuse, including after school clubs.

Winchester Student Union provides independent educational advice & support and a broad range of extracurricular activities and volunteering opportunities to students of the University of Winchester; this includes an annual, diverse programme of campaigns designed to elect positive behavioral change and provide critical information for the welfare and interests of members and the wider community.

We aim to encourage and inspire the best use of music, above all in Christian worship, formation and outreach. We do this by both direct and indirect education and training. Through our staff, volunteers and partnerships, we provide short courses, extended learning programmes, publications and resources, advice and advocacy. We work with people of all ages, abilities and levels of resource.

The Wave Project runs award-winning surf therapy programmes for children aged 8-24 in the UK. Using a combination of qualified staff and trained volunteers, we run an evidence-based programme of peer-led surfing lessons that helps children and young adults to improve their emotional wellbeing. We also run a Beach School project for children at risk of exclusion from school.

EHSU exists to represent Edge Hill University students effectively as well as provide cultural, social and sporting opportunities to help our students develop personal and life skills.

The School of Artisan Food (SAF) aims to provide students, regardless of their background and socioeconomic circumstances, with an education in all aspects of artisan food production.

The charity promotes the advancement of learning and education in particular (but without limitation) at the University of Texas in Austin.

Africa Trust works to bring sustainable solutions to poverty in Africa. They establish sustainable supplies of clean water and decent sanitation. Income generating projects are used to pay school fees, improve clinics and generate funds needed to run orphanages. With business skills training, villagers start businesses and funds are circulated to catalyse new projects.

Delivery of Peep Learning Together programme to parents/carers and children under 5 via groups, visits, drop ins and nursery/preschool provision in Oxford; practitioner mentoring and training nationally; development of learning resources and training materials. Accreditation of parents' learning via Scottish Qualifications Authority. Promotion of the Peep Learning Together programme in Scotland.

We provide a supportive environment for people experiencing mental ill health, offering work training and support which promotes personal development and for progression towards employment

The charity works primarily with children, young people and their parents and/or carers to provide educational and experiential opportunities, support, advice, childcare and vocational training. We operate within Swansea, along with facilitating a hub of community support in Brecon. We work in identified areas of disadvantage offering both premises based and outreach support

We facilitate cross sector collaboration and use our networks to convene NGOs, survivors, faith leaders, businesses, law enforcement, government, academics, and individuals. We use our social media platforms to engage and educate the public. We give talks to schools and universities. We launched a podcast, to showcase individuals in the field of modern slavery. We host thought leadership events.

We deliver child-centred education in the Global South for some of the most marginalised children in the world. We are inspired by Johann Pestalozzi's "Head, Heart and Hands" approach, which focuses on developing academic abilities, essential vocational skills and children's confidence. We are "Heart-led" and emphasise nurturing social, emotional, and ethical well-being in all we do.

The main activities of the Charity at present are :Care and SupportWe support people with learning disabilities in their own homes, day opportunities and provide personal care if needed. We also provide a respite service.Supported employmentWe provide supported employment to people with learning disabilities through our subsidiary Newpath Ventures Limited which runs a number of businesse

We help young people from low income backgrounds gain summer work experience placements in a science, technology, engineering and technology (STEM) research or industry environment. We also provide the students with information and guidance through workshops and skills days helping them to progress to university, training and STEM careers.
