The objectives of the Society are to stimulate public understanding of the sciences, including natural, physical, social and archaeological sciences, through lectures, grants, sponsorship and educational activities. The Society runs an annual series of around 20 public lectures, and maintains an interest in the Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, York, which it originally founded in the 1820s.

We raise money for improvements to St Ann's Well Gardens, Hove, an historic public park with significant wildlife interest. We have provided public information/interpretation boards and written information about features of the Gardens..; We provide volunteers to work on projects in the Gardens and we put on community festivals and wildlife events for the benefit of the local community.

We provide support, treatment and research for children with cancer and other life limiting illnesses in the Wessex region by:* Providing away days away from hospital at theme parks or theatres* Funding the Beads of Courage Programme at local hospitals* Decoration of Children's Wards* Funding research*Cost-free respite breaks at Sophie's Rainbow Retreat.

The Association owns the Elmswell memorial building leased to the County Council and the adjacent memorial garden maintained by volunteers. It publishes the Elmswell Newsletter delivered free to all households and businesses within the area of benefit on a monthly basis entirely supported by advertising.

To Re-establish the Barham picnic site back to its original purpose , to provide a safe green space for local residents and their children. To maintain the picnic site and its amenities indefinitely .

Broomhill Community Trust operates from Broomhill Community Library, 10 Taptonville Road, Broomhill, Sheffield, S10 5BR. The Trust was established to progress the development of the library building and its heritage garden, and also now operates the volunteer-run Community Library services and activities. It raises funds through donations, grants and developed revenue streams.

To provide allotments or field gardens and recreation grounds for the inhabitants of the Borough of Fareham.

Reforestation works to restore thriving forest landscapes by creating and restoring woodland and associated habitats, connecting networks of woodlands and supporting agro-ecological food production. We do this by planting trees, assisting natural regeneration processes and desiging and implementing regenerative, agro-forestry systems. We operate across UK on our own and other landowners' land.

The charitable object of the Friends of Kensal Rise Library is:To advance public education by running and/or assisting in the running of a library at Bathurst Gardens, Kensal Rise, London NW10 5JA, for the benefit of the residents of the London Borough of Brent.

Conservation of woodland ecosystems

The society organises four flower and produce shows each year, plus on-line and in person lectures and talks on gardening related subjects with a theme of "Gardening for Everyone". We also organise day trips and holidays to gardens in the UK. We have a network of local affiliated societies and help them with publicity and obtaining speakers and judges for their events. Membership is open to all.

Wrexham Community Gardeners renovate and maintain courtyards and other green spaces at Wrexham Maelor Hospital and other clinical locations in Wales to provide wellbeing and therapeutic gardens for the benefit of patients. The work is carried out by volunteers some of whom are patients, former patients and staff at the hospital.

1. relief of poverty by promotion of small-scale environmental, agricultural and social welfare projects in communities where income is below $2/day. Projects include: support for HIV-affected families, composting, tree-planting, income-generation schemes for rural communities. 2. education concerning causes of global poverty & strategies for poverty eradication

The Charity provides 7 homes for residents in peaceful, maintained gardens.Residents live rent free and make a modest contribution towards heating bills and the fabric. Each unit has an allotment if required. The Charity is independent and receives no regular financial help.Local organizations have helped with renovation and restoration programs.

Maintenance and support of Historic Garden with access to public

The provision & maintenance of Landithy village hall for use by the inhabitants of the area of benefit. The provision and maintenace of a memorial garden for the benefit of the inhabitants of the area of benefit with the object of improving the conditions of life for such persons.

Organic Garden Demonstration

Friends of Valley Gardens supports the curriculum and extra curricular activities for pupils of Valley Gardens Middle School. We do so by organising fund raising events and by running fun and educational activities for our pupils.

Annual Woodland Pioneers week for apprentices, potential apprentices and others.

To promote the survival of the red squirrel and the preservation of trees and woodlands in the UK and throughout Europe through control of the grey squirrel and invasive alien species.

We are currently introducing a range of activities aimed at developing the capabilities of young people. These include the regular use of our Hub for a local skate group and the establishment of a garden area for community gardening activities.

Fundraising to support Wincanton Community Hospital by running Fetes, Garden Parties, Dances, Charity Draw, Race Days, Easter Egg Hunt, and Xmas Fayres etc. The funds are used to provide support to patients at the Hospital along with improvements to equipment, buildings and facilities.

Provides travelling fellowships to support international educational exchanges by scientists involved in grassland-related research and allied agricultural science. Supports grassland-related education through sponsoring seminars and occasional speakers at conferences.
