The London Buddhist Centre teaches meditation and Buddhism in a way that is relevant to contemporary western life. The Breathing Space programme run by the Centre teaches Mindfulness Based Approaches to help prevent relapse into depression and addiction and to manage stress and anxiety.

The charity aims to relieve the poverty and the physical and mental illness and distress of women, particularly those who have suffered any legal restriction to their liberty or who have been charged or convicted of a criminal offence. Hibiscus Initiatives' undertakes welfare advice, advocacy, and international resettlement work with women in prison, detention and in the community.
