Heritage Charities That specialise in Archaeology

The charity supports archaeological and historical research in the county of Suffolk. It publishes these in an annual paper known as The Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History. It organises lectures, both live and online, and excursions. It publishes books on the history and archaeology of Suffolk.

We offer lectures and study days aiming to advance the education of the public and promote public understanding of the history, archaeology and culture of the Nile Valley and surrounding regions, and offer research and conservation grants particularly in support the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology and its collections.

Lectures on a regular basic during autumn, winter and spring. Visits to places of interesr during the summer

To promote public interest in, and improve public knowledge of, the architecture, archaeology and history of St Albans and Hertfordshire. To work to secure the protection of monuments, structures or other features of architectural, historical or archaeological interest in the area. To encourage the preservation of written documents and materials of historical interest.

To educate the public in the geography,history&natural history, archaeology & architecture of the Ancient Parish of Lytham;to preserve, protect, develop & improve buildings of historic or architectural interest;to foster & stimulate public interest in its history & heritage;to form & to encourage others to form a collection of material & make this available for public exhibition from time to time.

Promote awareness of post-medieval archaeology through sponsoring conferences and research, by publishing a journal and newsletter, and by encouraging student participation and public engagement.

The objects of the charity are to advance the education of the public in the history and archaeology of Caistor Roman town in Norfolk and its surrounding region.There have been two major programmes running during the period: field walking in the area0001

Promotes archaeology in Britain, comments on new and existing policies, and publicises discoveries and issues through Rescue News. Produces educational publications about archaeological conservation and recording.

Members benefit from a programme of visits, day schools, lectures, site tours & social events in the York area & wider. All funds raised contribute directly to the work of York Archaeological Trust for Excavation & Research to further it's important work.

The objects of the society shall be to undertake and foster archaeological research in Cornwall (including The Isles Of Scilly) and to disseminate knowledge of cornish archaeology by publication or other means.

The development of programmes of public and community archaeology and the dissemination of knowledge to promote the public's interest in and enjoyment of CH. Monthly lectures, 2 annual conferences, publications, visits, displays and small grants with the aim of educating the public and promoting study in the fields of history, archaeology and architectural history, particularly in relation to the county of Cambridgeshire. The Society represents the interests of these fields within the county to bodies like local government and Cambridge University.

The Unit runs archaeological projects in Kent and S.E London on threatened sites, including watching briefs, excavations, publication and preservation. Its education work involves two major Roman monuments open to the public with activity schools workshops. The unit is managed by its committee and many volunteers.

We preserve for the public's benefit the historic structure and environs of Neath Abbey Ironworks, Neath Abbey, South Wales. This involves vegetation control and conservation work.We advance the public's education regarding the heritage and culture, especially engineering and science, of Neath Abbey Ironworks and its environs. This involves community archaeological digs and educational events.

Our charity's current activities continue to ensure the continuity of worship in Dore Abbey. The (12) Building involves an on-going expense of fabric maintenance. Guided tours continue to promote the education of the public in the historical & archaeological treasures of our ancient church. Music, drama events are organised during the summer months for the benefit of the public.

Raising of funds to support archaeological work of all kinds (though not normally excavation or projects which should be supported by developers) in the City of London and its environs; particularly in publication and research of archaeological material, and education in archaeology.
