Advancement of the education of the public in the science, art, literature, music, history, economics, philosophy, culture, way of life and other recognised subjects of the academic study of Greece.The relief of poverty and sickness with particular regard to persons who have suffered as a result of disasters whether in the United Kingdom or in Greece or elsewhere.

The aim of the organisation is to operate a museum and archive, for the benefit of all, but particularly the local population, incoming tourists and all those with an interest in the area. The focus of the organisation is and will be the history of Swanage and its environs.

To foster the historical and cultural links between Portugal and the United Kingdom through talks, lectures, visits, dinners and other social functions in honour of the Treaty of Windsor 1386 between Portugal and England, the world's oldest treaty of alliance. In addition the Society provides financial assistance to childrens' homes and charities in Portugal on a charitable basis.

Founded in 1922 as the Royal Aircraft Establishment Orchestral Society, the Farnborough Symphony Orchestra has a long history of performing a varied programme of orchestral music to a high standard in the local community. It presents four concerts each season under a professional conductor, often featuring young soloists at the outset of their careers.

To preserve for the benefit of the people of Oxfordshire and of the nation at large, whatever of the English historical, architectural and constructional heritage may exist in Oxfordshire in the form of buildings and also any garden or plant or machinery irrespective of whether it is associated with a building of particular beauty or historical, or architectural, or constructional interest.

The society's objectives are to stimulate public interest in the beauty, history and character of the town of Lewes and its surrounding area; to organise concerted action for protecting and enhancing the townscape of Lewes and the architectural, visual and historic interest of Lewes and the surrounding area and for preserving free access to the latter; and to co-operate with kindred societies. It

The charity runs the local Memorial Hall which consists of a large main hall plus a meeting room. Encouraging and enabling local history research in Hornsey parish, part of Haringey. Publishing original research for educational use, an annual bulletin and four newsletters for members.Sales of publications to general public. Talks to local schools and community organisations. Acquisition and preservation of archive material and advice to general public on local history issues. Monthly lectures.

Preserving the history of March & District in the form of artefacts, photographs and documents. Making this information available to the general public during our regular opening times, via the Internet, mail or telephone, by specially arranged group visits from schools and other groups and by outreach. We also engage academically and socially with other local groups.

Exmouth Museum preserves artefacts for the history of Exmouth. These are displayed for residents and visitors to the town to see on their visits. Groups are also able to visit the museum for tours and guided information. Talks are given to outside organisations and there are information and educational packs.

Organises walks and talks, carries out surveys and research into the natural history of the region, publishes two journals annually, the Avon Bird Report, and Nature in Avon, supports other conservation activity in the region.

To promote and encourage the study of Irish genealogy and to collect books and manuscripts of genealogical value.Has a library of books and documents relating mainly to Irish Family History, currently in store. To advance religion in accordance with the Jewish faith by the provsion of a synagogue for the purpose of pubic worship and to advance education amongst children and adults in conetmporary Judaism, Jewish history, culture, theology and literugy and the understanding of multi-cultural Judaism.

The village is a thriving community (approx 500 dwellings and 1200 residents). Many residents support the hall and it is key to village life. The hall is used by 16 regular groups including, Indoor Bowls, Karate, Keep Fit, Scouts, History Society, Parent and Toddler group, Dancing etc plus numerous ad hoc functions. There is a successful amateur Dramatic group with an active youth section.

FSLS is concerned wth Environment/Conservation/Heritage and organises a series of educational walks around Frome during the summer.which are designed to help residents/other groups appreciate the economic and social history of the town and the fine selection of Frome's magnificent buildings.Helps Charities and other voluntary bodies,makes Grants to organisations, sponsors or undertakes research.

To work for the public benefit in creating environmental awareness and in stimulation and encouraging an understanding of and active involvement in the protection, conservation, and practical improvement of features of general and public amenity or historical interest within the landscape,and in doing so provides grants to assist in the process.

To promote the preservation of business records of historical importance. To supply advice and information on business archives and modern records. To encourage interest in and study of business history and archives. To provide a forum for the custodians and users of business archives.

To provide facilities and amenities for social welfare, particularly a centre for the benefit of the inhabitants of Llanidloes and the neighbourhood, without discrimination of any kind, and to provide education, particularly in the arts and with special regard to the history, crafts and culture of the area of benefit.
