The Shoosmith Gallery, is a registered charity to promote the artistic work of Thurston Laidlaw Shoosmith (1865-1933) and Fanny Violet Shoosmith (1871-1925), to advance public knowledge and education of their watercolours and associated family history. To promote art therapy sessions as a creative expression for the alleviation of trauma and the emotional well-being of people.

The Charity operates the Berwick Visitor Centre in Walkergate Berwick-upon-Tweed for the benefit of locals and visitors alike. The Visitor Centre, through its audio visual presentations and permanent and temporary exhibits, educates and informs locals, visitors and school pupils of the history of Berwick and its current facilities.
