The Society maintains a world class research library and publishes internationally acclaimed journals in the field.

The National Manuscripts Conservation Trust was set up in 1990 to provide financial assistance to owners and custodians in the UK in preserving the nation's written heritage. The Covent Garden Area Trust is a charity set up on the abolition of the Greater London Council. Its objects include the conservation of the Covent Garden Area, its architectural character, its buildings and features of historical or architectural interest. The Museum has been run by volunteers since 1972 and owns its 11-acre site. There is an admission charge and 22,000 visitors pa view 60 aircraft plus over 45,000 aviation artefacts. The object of the charity is to advance public education in relation to the history of Amersham and the surrounding area, principally by the operation of a museum.The charity owns the Amersham Museum which is situated at 49 and 51 High Street, Amersham, Bucks. It is open from Easter to the end of October.

The Trust's main activities are to safeguard the Victoria Baths building complex and work towards its preservation and repair, for public access. We work in partnership with a variety of agencies, including Manchester City Council to manage the building, research its history and organise and publicise events.

Grants are made to help promote the efficiency of the Regiment, for the relief in need of all past and present members of the Regiment or its predecessors and their wives and widows, and for the advancement of education in respect of the history of the Regiment.
