Promotes understanding of the local and natural history of the village and civil parish of Thorney, particularly through the development and opening of the Thorney Heritage Museum.

To promote high standards of planning and architecture, to educate the public in the geography, history, natural history and architecture, to secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest in the area of benefit.

Holds regular lectures in natural history subjects; practical conservation work parties; monitors and records local wildlife; monitors potential effect of local planning applications on wildlife; supports the work of Essex Wildlife Trust.

Care & making available for access where appropriate (including specialist research & loans) of the Guermonprez Collection within the overall Portsmouth Museums Service. The Collection comprises natural history material including preserved mammals,birds,reptiles,fish,insects,shells,botanical & geological artefacts,scientific watercolours,books, & photos of social history topics.

The aims of the society are to further the studies of birds in the field and assist in their preservation.Specific activities include:- co-operation with other bodies in the maintenance/management of local areas of ornithological/natural history importance- recording of bird life in the LOS area- publishing of ornithological material and that related to conservation, relevant to the area

Weekly winter lectures on natural history and bird-watching, workshops re education, information and local studies of natural history topics such as moth trapping, fungi and bat detection and field trips throughout the year. Aim is to provide social, recreational and educational activities and liaison with groups local and national with similar interests to share information.

Established for the benefit of the public to: (1) work principally within the area of Holderness, East Yorkshire for the region's natural and local history. Furthering interest in Natural History and Archaeology for Wells and the Mendip Hills

To educate the public about any aspects of natural history. To protect fauna and flora and to preserve important wildlife habitats for the benefit of the public. To arrange regular indoor and outdoor meetings. To act jointly with other organisations having similar charitable purposes. To collect and collate natural history records. To do all other lawful things for the attainment of our objects.

Recording the natural history of the Chorley area

Promoting the preservation, protection & development of Ripon.Make annual awards to encourage high standards in any developments/refurbishments during the preceeding year.Commenting on planning matters relevant to Ripon with a view to promoting high standards in any developments.Educating members & the general public in the geography, history, natural history & general environment of Ripon.

Promote the thorough investigation of the geology, fauna, flora & physical features of the County: bring together the interest in & study of every branch of natural history; hold & maintain library, records & reference material. Within the Parish of Westbere the society aims toa) promote high standards of planning and architecture;b) educate regarding the local geography, natural history and architecture; andc) secure the preservation, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest.The society provides a newsletter and organises events and activities for its members and the local community.

To promote public knowledge and awareness of natural history and other subjects of environmental interest with particular emphasis upon South Cumbria.

PROVIDES SERVICES OF RECORDING, OBSERVATION, UNDERSTANDING OF FLORA AND FAUNA OF BRITISH ISLES

To observe, record & preserve the flora & fauna by way of field visits throughout the summer and issue an annual report containing the findings.We also carry out a winter programme of talks in order to promote our activities and raise awareness in the community of items of interest or areas of concern regarding the state of the natural history locally

(1)The study of Natural History, Geology and Archaeology. (2)The collection of information concerning topography, field paths. natural and archaelogical features of Darlington District and Teesdale including compilation of lists of recent fossils, fauna and flora.(3) The preservation of characteristic plants and animals of the district.

The objectives of the society are:- 1. To compile lists of the flora and fauna of the district, 2. To study the natural history, culture and history of the district, 3. To make a photographic record of the district, 4. To promote the conservation of the flora and fauna of the district. The society arranges lectures and field meetings, and publishes a monthly bulletin of its findings.

(A) To advance the study and science of ornithology and (B) Promote the conservation of local and national avifauna and flora and the study of other branches of natural history.
