Dulverton Heritage Centre is a community led facility totally run by volunteers, offering an educational experience for local people and visitors, celebrating what makes the area special and unique. We assist visitors and local people to learn of the history and natural history and architecture of the locality and to secure the preservation, protection and development of features in the area.

The Society organises an annual series of lectures, usually held in Leicester New Walk Museum, for the advancement of education in Literature, Science and the Arts. It publishes proceedings and supports the museum. Natural History and Geology Sections organise further events. The Society has close links with Leicester, De Montfort and Loughborough universities and Leicester City Council.

The Sorby Natural History Society is the Natural History society for the Sheffield City region, providing education, research and publications, including biological and geological recording of wildlife, habitats, rocks and landscapes.
