The trust receives and invests funds in support of the maintenance and preservation of the Royal Albert Hall, a Grade 1 listed building of historic and cultural significance, and of the work of the Hall in seeking to advance education for public benefit by the provision of such instructive activities that relate to the Hall as the Trustees shall from time to time determine.

The principal activity is operation of a narrow guage railway line as a working museum.

The Trust is concerned with Heritage Building Preservation which is achieved by finding new uses for redundant buildings. Our area of operation is in the Richmondshire District of North Yorkshire. Russell-Cotes provides a museum and art gallery based in a listed building overlooking Poole Bay.The Museum is part of the Government's initiative to improve access to the arts.

REDRESS is a human rights organisation that helps torture survivors obtain justice and reparation. REDRESS works with survivors to help restore their dignity and to make torturers accountable.
