The Charity's activities are to promote urban or rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation particularly in Sunderland and its surrounding areas . The Trustees will use the following means and any other that they may from time to time determine . To preserve historic buildings , to advance the arts , to advance education in science , engineering , history and cultural heritage

The Great Grimsby Ice Factory Trust is a Building Preservation Trust that in the past has worked on finding a sustainable new use for the Grimsby Ice Factory, a Grade II* listed Victorian industrial building on Grimsby Docks. Currently the Trust is engaged in delivering the Peterson's Project, bringing back into use two buildings in the Kasbah Conservation Area of Grimsby Docks.

The charity runs regular work parties to maintain and restore the canal in conjunction with Canal and River Trust, and a small canoe hire operation for local groups and families.We also liaise with local government and other relevant bodies.

The objects of Ely Cathedral Trust are to apply income for the repair and maintenance of the Cathedral and its surrounding buildings and to support the Cathedral Choir.
